Episode Summary

EDIT

Even though taking separate vacations was Lisa's idea, she misses Oliver before she even gets to the airport. Her constant phone calls and the goofy locals who think he tossed her out of the house irritate Oliver to no end. He gives up and hops a plane tojoin her; the layover in Cuba was an added surprise.

    Trivia, Notes, Quotes and Allusions

    FILTER BY TYPE

    • TRIVIA (3)

      • Lisa doesn't belive Oliver's story about being hijacked to Cuba, but when she looks over at his picture, his face has Fidel Castro's beard and hat drawn on it.

      • Lisa takes the wrong plane and ends up in Miami, Florida. Oliver's plane gets hijacked and ends up in Havana, Cuba.

      • Mr. Haney's business card says "Haney's Lonesome Service". He offers Oliverhis one week "de-lonelization service" for $15. It includes horseshoes and advanced lessons on dancing the Big Apple.

    • QUOTES (4)

      • Hank: Say, uh, now that you're a bachelor, I imagine you'll be getting at your little black book, and uh... [laughs dirty laugh]
Oliver: Mr. Kimball, I threw away my little black book a long time ago.
Hank: Oh. You happen to remember where you threw it?

      • Fred: Arnold brought you a book.
        Oliver:
        The Three Little Pigs.
        Fred:
        Yeah, it's his favorite book.

      • Oliver: What are those?
        Eb:
Hotcakes. Ms. Douglas told me make 'em just like she does so you won't miss her.

      • Oliver: (Eb is upset that the Douglases arebreaking up) She's not leaving me. We're taking a vaction from each other because we're beginning to get on each other's nerves.
Eb: You get on my nerves, and I don't want to take a vacation from you!
        Oliver: Look, Eb--
Lisa: (comes to the car) I'm ready.
Eb: (drops to his knees, begs) Please Mom, don't go! Dad's sorry! That other woman didn't really mean anything to him!
        Lisa: What other woman?

    • NOTES (1)

      • Hooterville exists in a Bizarro world unlike any other in television. Haney gives Oliver a glow-in-the-dark cast photo of The Beverly Hillbillies, but neither seems to realize that they know these TV characters as real people. The Clampett family members have visited Hooterville numerous times. In fact, the Douglases even shared a Christmas dinner with them at the Shady Rest Hotel.

    • ALLUSIONS (1)

      • Haney gives Oliver a "full color" framed picture of cast of The Beverly Hillbillies that glows in the dark. That series, and Green Acres, were both produced by Paul Henning.
