      • These are words from the aliens' vocabulary, according to Eb: "drigas", means yes; "dingle burbis", means good night; "frangen" means nice; "glipper" means "spaceship"; and "drigas" is the thing they left but returned to pick up.

      • Lisa makes four pots of coffee: one black, one with cream already in it, one with sugar, and one with both. She had broken the sugar and cream bowls.

      • The headline in the "Hooterville World Guardian" reads "Local Boy Sees Flying Saucer--Talks With Green Couple from Outer Space".

      • Haney: (declaring himself Eb's agent) Eb baby, I'm gonna make you famous!
        Oliver
        : Eb baby?

      • (Eb says his UFO sighting began with a loud humming sound)
Lt. Bennett: What did you do when you heard this humming?
        Eb
: Well, I tried to hum along with it, but I didn't know the tune.

      • Oliver: (advising Eb not to tell his story to the paper) If this gets into print, it's going to confirm what a lot of people think: that you're a dingbat.

      • Eb: (to Oliver, after talking to the "little green men") Dingle berbis. Oliver: What? Eb: That's what they said when they took off. I think it means "good night".

      • Oliver: (holding up a hotcake on his fork) This is a real UFO: unidentified food object. Lisa: Just for that, no more hotscakes. Oliver: You DO love me!
