  • Aya still carries a torch for Razer

There were quite a few riveting points in this episode. The main storyline this time was about Carol fighting Atrocitus and her man Hal coming to her rescue being her one true love. Carol was inexperienced in the field of battle, and despite being hit and tossed around, she still managed to look all so sexy and fabulous without a hair out of place. Another point too is that Zamaron is the planet representing love and yet it has to take someone like Carol who has to be transported via a portal halfway across the universe to teach the Zamarons what love is all about. I was expecting Carol and Hal to kiss at the end of the episode but all he had was a peck on the cheek from his love.

It is also interesting to note that star sapphire Giata had always loved Hal Jordan despite him loving Carol and not her. Giving up her life to save Hal who would never return her love was poignant and sad. Hal is one lucky man to have two beautiful women loving him at the same time.

Although those were great highlights, the main one for me was when Aya was about to annihilate Hal and Carol, and despite all that huge power of the Anti-Monitor, she hesitated when Razer appeared. He flew up to her and asked her what she was doing. Her hand dropped, she stalled. She looked at Razer and for a moment there, she stopped. You could see she was conflicted for awhile and then she forced herself to focus on "destroying emotion," before flying away. She could have obliterated the planet easily and yet all it took was for Razer to show up and she got distracted and just flew away.

It's great to see women like Queen Agapo fight back and stand their ground. All in all a good enough episode.moreless

    • Manhunter: No man escapes the Manhunters.
Aga'po: I am no man. I am Aga'po, Queen of the Zamarons!

    • Aya: I will destroy love's proxy in the universe, the Zamaron home world, unless you can give me a reason not to.
Carol: Oh, so no pressure then.

    • Kilowog: Jordan, look at this map. There are fifteen near misses in the Anders Nebula alone. No human brain can react fast enough to get through that alive.
Hal: Flying is mostly instinct. There's no brain involved. (Kilowog stares) You know what I mean.

    • Carol: Wait. This is nuts! I can't fight an alien warlord. Are those serrated teeth?!?

    • Gi'ata: Here. The Star Sapphire ring you returned before.
Carol: Right. Because if I'm gonna be battling to the death, I should at least be well-accessorized.

    • Hal: The Star Sapphire ring doesn't let you drag just anyone across the universe.
Carol: It was either you or my high school prom date, and he's an accountant in Tucson.

    • Hal: Gi'ata, you shouldn't have.
Gi'ata: There is no greater privilege than to perform a deed born of pure love and no greater honor than that it should be my last.
