  • A new arrival and a new housemate for Caroline.

I love this show. As I'm the only one who reviews it you may have figured this out by now, but I do. I think it is currently the most original, sharp and above all entertaining comedy on British television.

I say this because this week, I think, marked a turning point in terms of the balance of the programme which has got me very excited. Whereas the show used to have a backbone of irreverent and anarchic set pieces, it now seems to be going for a more plot driven approach- thanks in no small part to the arrival of Holly, Angela's replacement and incidentally Mac's old flame. The suggestion seems to be that her and Guy are going to be attempting to break down the budding relationship of Caroline and Mac which I look forward to seeing with relish.

But that's in the future, and for now let us focus on the present. My favourite plot line for this week has to be Statham's attempt to find a new parking place, leading to Mac hosting a beach party in his space and finally to a beautifully reparked car by Mac and Boyce that lead to fantastic responses from Statham, a performance that as ever was filled with well-judged facial tics and nervous movements to create just the right amont of neurosis to be funny.

My other stand-out moment this week has to be the Guyball sequence. Whether this game is real or not, I couldn't say, but I'd love to think so. If anyone from Switzerland can confirm or deny it's existence please let me know!

However, the episode was not without fault, and as much as I hate saying it, the fault was found in the wonderful Martin Dear. Now don't get me wrong, the character is superb, it just seems as if he's become slightly sidelined. With the focus being heavily on Caroline and Mac's relationship, it means the characters not involved with this need to stand-out to reamin interesting and unfortunately as a solo character Martin doesn't- that said the nude drawing sequences were hilarious, but I'd like to see Martin more involved in the actual workings of the story more.

To finish on a positive, mention must be made on Statham's superb response to Boyce joining in the parking space beach party volleyball game with two bikini-clad nurses, to which the ever imbittered Statham remarks, "Come along Boyce, they've probably all got chlemydia." Genius!moreless

Statham: I demand my mug back!
Mac: Actually, now you said "bum crack". Did you really want to demand some bum crack?
Statham: What we need around here is a little bit more respect!

Statham: I did. I said "respect".
Mac: No, you said "tickle my balls".

Joanna:Of course it isn't very well it's dead.
      Naughty Rachel:Oh, that's a shame.
Joanna:No it's not, I bought it dead. It's there because it's dead and I'm alive, hah!
