  • This Sloan/daughter story is rushed and awfully written.

I cannot believe this storyline. We only met this daughter last week and she's already broken up Lexi and Sloan - WTF!? Not only is it totally unbelievable for Mark to choose her so early on but it's just so rushed and out of the blue. What happened to building up storylines? All the scenes with the daughter and Addison were painful to watch. I don't care and that's the writers fault. Awfully written storyline.

Alex and Lexi sleeping together is just another thing to cause conflict. It's so sudden...why did it have to happen? What will it do? I thought Cristina starting to love being a doctor again was the highlight of the episode. That ending scene where she begged Teddy to stay was crazy! Would she really give up Owen for her career?

The Meredith/Derek/Chief plot was interesting enough. I'm glad she told Derek about the drinking and hope we'll get some good (and well written) drama next week. Derek trying to set Bailey up was pretty funny. But overall this was a badly written Grey's going downhill? I'm afraid I think it is.moreless
  • Addison came to Seattle to make a surgery to Mark's daughter, meantime Derek is investigating what is the reason why Miranda is doing all the Chief's surgery's and Dr. Altman allows Christina makes a solo surgery but with an ulterior motive.moreless

This is one of the most intense chapters I've seen in a while, the end is very shocking with unexpected outcome.

The most part of the episode is entertaining with Derek putting his nose in Miranda's affairs, Karev with his unbalanced personality that characterizes him since Izzie gone, Sloan finally acting like a dad with his daughter Sloan, Christina is preparing a cardio surgery but the patient has a very peculiar personality, but near the final of the episode all turns upside down, Mark and Lexie have a breakup, Meredith confess Derek what happened with the Chief, something happened with Karev and Lexie, and Christina say an unexpected answer, all that gives an exciting final.moreless
  • Not the best comeback, still good

I was hoping for a better episode. In the middle of it I was thinking it was a bit slow...but this show has this 'thing' that, in the last 10 minutes, it gives you what you were expecting for the entire hour. At least that's how I feel about it.

Again, it was not a great comeback, or the best episode of the season, whatever...but there were some good stuff going on: Bailey's single life speech (hilarious) Meredith being an adult, caring about Alex, Izzie and the Chief Addison (tough it was too short, she belongs to Seattle Grace) And of course the ending.

Cristina and Teddy's plot seems a little weird but I'll wait to see where it goes, I learned that in season 5.

I'm glad Grey's is back. Can't wait for next week.moreless
  • Sloan and Lexie hit a roadblock in their relationship as little Sloan is in her darkest hour, and Addison returns; Meredith can't hide the Chief's secrets from Derek anymore; Cristina makes a huge sacrifice to keep her career and learning at bay.moreless

Ugh. I don't know if I like or hate this episode. It was ok I guess. The ending had me on the edge of my seat but apart from that the only good parts where Callzona (IDK w/e you call them) and Meredith telling off ugly fairy girl. Who was the actress that played the heart patient who couldn't make up her mind? She looked REAL familiar. The song at the end was really good. I know you want your learning Cristina, but was giving up Owen really what you wanted? They keep making Owen extremely unlikeable but I thought he was bearable in this episode. Teddy annoys me. But she's a regular so I just have to suck it up. I don't like where this show is going because I'm sure it's bound to get worse even if Izzie and Meredith are still there. George's death I don't understand how it could affect Season 6. He wasn't in season five as much but I thought that season was as good as it ever has been. Seriously writers, get it together!moreless
  • Why?

Alex and Lexie? Why does Grey's Anatomy feel the need to ruin a relationship when it's good? Lexie and Sloan were the perfect match and I think most fans would agree, and even if they don't end over this, this was just an unnecessary road block and really lame attempt at generating a cliffhanger.

Can we stop with the Private Practice crossover episodes now? This is the 4th crossover story arc the two shows have done and Double P is only in its third season. That is just way too much.

This episode to me was just really lacking in drama. Just not a good return from hiatus for Grey's.moreless

  • TRIVIA (0)

  • QUOTES (18)

    • Meredith (closing voiceover): You never forget the moment that you become a doctor. A switch flips. Suddenly, you're not playing dress-up anymore. You own the white coat. What you may not notice is the moment that being a doctor... changes you.

    • Cristina: Did you see that? I mean, I'm holding a heart. I feel it almost starting to fibrillate in my hand! I mean, piss-poor aortic tissue, possibly irreparable, and then bam! Sutures hold and it comes back. I mean, please, I don't wanna see the face. I-- I don't wanna hear what you have to say, I-- I was fine. I was on fire! I was learning! I felt alive for the first time, in I don't know how long, Owen. It was like I had air in my lungs.
Owen: She's leaving Seattle. It's just not gonna work for her. (Cristina stares at him in shock)

    • Cristina: Dr. Altman, wait, wait. What do you want? More money? 'Cause I'll talk to the Chief.
      Teddy: No.
Cristina: You know, they can set up a new cardio unit with a-- a research lab, or you could work with vets.
      Teddy: It isn't about that.
Cristina: Wait, wait, wait. No one's ever believed in me like this. You believe in me more than I do. And I need that. I'm gonna die here without that.
Teddy (talking over her): Cristina it's more complicated than that.
Cristina (trying to talk over Teddy): Tell me what you want and I will make it happen--
      Teddy: I want Owen!
      Cristina: Fine. Take him!

    • Alex: What're you doing in here?
Lexie (laying on the bed, holding a bottle of booze): Moving in.
Alex: No, no, no. I'm sick of living in a damn trailer. Go live in Izzie's old room.
Lexie: You go. She's your wife.
Alex: I thought you were shacking up with what's-his-face. (sits down on the bed, and takes the bottle from her, and drinks it)
Lexie: I'm not. (scene cut, then back) I'm too young to be a grandmother. (laughs) I'm just supposed to be working like a dog and then come home and do stupid things, like bungee jumping. And Jell-o shots. I don't even know what people my own age do anymore.
Alex: I know something stupid you can do. (they kiss)

    • Sloan: I can't have a gimpy kid.
Mark: Now, I know I haven't been your father for long, but you say 'gimp' one more time, I'm gonna smack you.

    • Alex: I told Torres she had to let you scrub in if she was cutting.
      Reed: Cool.
      Alex: Book an on-call room.
Reed: What happened to drinks first?
Alex: Eh, it's kind of a waste of time, right? Cut to the chase. (Reed laughs)
Meredith (overhearing): Hey, Reed. Do you know Izzie Stevens?
      Alex: Grey.
Reed: Yes. I met her before she got fired.
Meredith: You know she's Alex's wife. And she's not here right now, but they're still married.
      Alex: Meredith, shut up.
Meredith: No. some people think you're divorced, and you're not.
Reed: Um, how about you just shut up long enough to watch your friend tank her valve.

    • Meredith: What's the deal with you and Reed?
      Alex: Nothing.
Meredith: You're not trading her surgery for sex, are you?
      Alex: Give me a break.
Meredith: Because if you are, it's gross.
Alex: Look, if I do it's 'cause I want to. You gonna look me in the eye and tell me Derek never threw a craniotomy your way after the two of you spent an hour in the on-call room? Please.
Meredith: I know it may not feel like it, but you are still married. And Izzie...
Alex: You know what? I'm done worrying about Izzie. And she sure as hell ain't worried about me.
Meredith: This is the old Alex. Sleeping with some random person because you're angry and hurt.
Alex: That's what you always did.
Meredith: And then we grew up and got married.
Alex: Yeah, well, it turns out your stupid post-it is ten times the marriage my church wedding ever got me. I'm movin' on.

    • Derek: You know Dave from Oncology? He's single.
Bailey: You wouldn't be startin' a conversation about my personal life, would you?
      Derek: Bad idea? He's handsome.
      Bailey: Bad idea!
      Derek: Okay, I tried!

    • Addison (about Bailey): Oh, she's perkier than usual.
Callie: Divorce'll do that to you.
      Addison: Sad.
Callie: Oh, she'll move on and be happy, she just needs somebody to move on to.
Addison: Well, that can't be so hard. (Derek laughs) Hey, wait. What about you? Can't you find her someone? That guy from Oncology, the cute one. Isn't he still here?
Derek: This is not my area.
Addison: He used to play basketball with him. Dave.
Derek: Torres should do it, they're friends.
Callie: Eh, she thinks I'm loopy.
      Derek: You are loopy.
Addison: Oh, come on. It's Bailey she's lonely.

    • Addison: I just need to say it once.
      Mark: Go ahead.
Addison: Grandpa. (laughs) Grandpa, grandpa, grandpa.
Mark: Okay, that was four times. Is it out of your system?
      Addison: I don't know.

    • Sloan: Hey, um do you have any cash? I lost the headset to my phone.
Lexie: How about you hold the phone up to your ear?
Sloan: You were the one who was bitching at me last night for being on the phone so late. Maybe if I had a headset I wouldn't have to talk so loud.
Lexie: Maybe if you had your own apartment, you could talk whenever you want, but we're all making comprimises.

    • Meredith (opening voiceover): We assume the really serious changes in our life happen slowly, over time. But it's not true. The big stuff happens in an instant. Becoming an adult. Becoming a parent. Becoming a doctor. One minute, you're not, and the next... you are. Ask any doctor, and they can point to the one moment they become a physician. It usually isn't med school graduation day. Whatever it is... nobody forgets it. Sometimes you don't even know anything's changed. You think you're still you and your life is still your life... but you wake up one day and you look around and you don't reognize anything. Not anything at all.

    • Cristina: Sloan Sloan monopolizing your bathroom again?
      Lexie: Yeah. Yours?
      Cristina: Owen's in mine.
Lexie (walks in Callie's, and Callie and Arizona are in the shower): Oh, God! (shuts door) They're in there.
Cristina: Yeah, you should knock first.
Lexie: I'm late. My hair is dirty. And he just gave her 80 bucks for a muffin and a sandwich.
      Cristina: That's quite a sandwich.
Lexie: She's just gonna end up spending it on jeans that show off her butt crack, and then she's gonna ask me for half of my pasta salad.
Cristina: You sound like my mother.

    • Bailey: You wanna show me the scan?
Tom: Uh, how about we look at it over lunch?
Bailey: I'm in the middle of a divorce. People call me the Nazi, and it's not because of my ice blue eyes. I spend 12 hours a day carving people up, and I like it. I have a child and I have no room for casual anything. I'm angry all the time. And deeply confused because a lot of people in my life have let me down recently, one of them was me. It's devastating, but not completely because it turns out I like sleeping crosswise in the bed and not having to shave my legs. My three year old used to be potty trained, and now he isn't because his father no longer lives with us and his world no longer makes sense, and the only thing he thinks he can control is his bladder. So he urinates, in a lot of places you wish he wouldn't urinate. ... You want lunch or you want to show me the scan?

    • Mark: I should've asked you first, but I was so excited, and I was so sure it was the right thing. And you know why? 'Cause of you. Since you, I know for the first time in my life what the right thing is.
Lexie: I'm happy for you. I really am. Something happened to you today. You became a dad. A real one. And Sloan, against all odds, became a mom. But I didn't. I was barely ready to move in with you, never mind your daughter and a grandbaby. I- I just... I don't want this.
Mark: You wanted to give your liver to your dad. This is what you do for family, right?
Lexie: I understand why you're doing it. I just don't understand why I'm doing it.
Mark: I think you're doing it for me.
Lexie: Don't make me out to be the selfish one. You don't get to unilaterally decide to let a teenager and her infant move into our house.
Mark: We'll get a bigger place. She needs us. Lexie, I thought I missed this. This is a chance for me. Don't make me choose between you and her.
Lexie: Why? 'Cause you'll choose her?
      Mark: Yeah. I'll choose her.
Lexie (sighs): I think our relationship just ended. (she kisses him goodbye)

    • Owen (asking about Cristina's surgery): How is it going?
Alex: Yang's killing her patient, and Altman's reading "The Atlantic Monthly".

    • Mark: I made a judgment call, you didn't like it. I'm sorry.
Addison: You threw me on a plane in the middle of my morning coffee because you wanted my judgment.
      Mark: It was risky.
Addison: That is not your call to make in my OR! You acted like a father. Why do you think they don't let parents in the room during an operation?
Mark: I'm not her father, Addison. Biologically, yes, but... I just met the kid. I'm helping out.
Addison: You reacted like a parent. Now, I don't know when, and I don't know how but at some point you became a dad to that little urchin, because you just lost it in my OR and Mark Sloan never loses it in the OR, not ever.

    • Sloan: Well, which one of you did he sleep with?
      Arizona: Oh, not me.
      Addison: You told her?
Mark: She's my kid. We were bonding.
Addison: That is not how you bond with children!
Mark: I'm still getting the hang of it.
