After playing the character elimination game here for a while, I was inspired to begin a new and (hopefully) improved version, with rules I've used on 4 other shows. I hope these rules, along with an extended character list, will make the game more interesting for everyone.
Here's my version of the rules.
Each person starts with 10 points. In your vote, give a (+) point to your favorite character and subtract one from your least favorite character (-). Be sure to change the previous numbers and put a plus or minus sign next to the ones you have changed. When a character reaches 20 points, that's it. They get star status, and we keep them in the order of who got there first. When a character reaches 0 points, they are eliminated from the game and demoted to either recurring character or guest star.
To make the voting more interesting and fair and be sure this is a collaborative effort, here are some additional rules:
1. Wait at least 2 hours before voting again.
2. Wait for at least 2 people to have voted between your last vote and your new vote.
3. Do not vote more than 2 times in a row the exact same vote.
Here's the list of characters. It's by no means a complete list. I left out any who characters were so unmemorable that I didn't know who they were. All of these have been in at least 5 episodes., except for Dylan Young, but he is so memorable a character that both I and the author of the extended favorite character game included him anyway.
