Oh my God!! Derek's going to meet Fitz! :D and Olivia :D and then we will see which one holds the scene better! :P
  • WOW *Beware of Spoilers*

    10
Jackson admits how he feels and it's about time. Well actually the timing wasn't too great but it was a heartfelt and romantic gesture that got a side of me to swoon big time! I liked that he was following a piece of advice given to him by Sloan, it was a nice shout out to a former character that I miss having on the show. I do hope that April will choose Jackson. Don't get me wrong, Matthew is a nice and good looking guy, but I just personally feel that he is too much like her. In my opinion, Jackson would prove to be a better match for April in the long run. Yin and yin wouldn't work, yin needs to have yang.

Speaking of yang, Christina's thing with Shane needs to end, right now. He is so boring and I find myself hoping his character will get written off the show before long. I'm also glad that her and Meredith may be patching things up. The catfights were good material for a while but there comes a point when it's just gone on long enough. Considering this is Sandra's final year on the show I am hoping for amazing storylines during the latter half of this season.

Derek's call from the president was a surprise and that is sure to cause discord between him and Meredith. I am interested to see where that will be going.

Alex stood up to his father, again, and gave a short and sweet speech to Jo. I like the two of them together, and I hope it continues. His father's status is left in question as the episode ends, so it is good that he'll having someone to comfort him if his dad doesn't make it. Even though Alex doesn't like his father he still cares in spite of everything because he's a good man. Oh, and his face during Jackson's impromptu speech at the end was priceless.

Bailey is still not in great shape and her marriage is suffering but I see a glimmer of hope on the horizon for them. I just hope I'm not wrong about that because she has gone through a lot lately.

I'm not sure how to feel about the Callie, Arizona, Leah storyline. Personally I feel that letting Arizona back in was a mistake but that's just my opinion. I'm not a fan of Leah either, but I can appreciate that she had some guts in this episode. She veered away from being near Arizona and helped get Shane away from a patient that he had no business operating on in the first place. I should have known Webber would be the attending that showed up. If there's anyone who can get through to a person and help them through almost anything it's Webber. I am very glad that he is back on his feet and doing surgeries again.

I can't wait until February so I can see what all of this will lead to.

  • Awesome!!

    10
I loved that Jackson finally aknowledged how he feels about April, and that he did it remembering Sloan's advice was just perfect.

I'm really into Christina and Mer's differences and fights, I wonder how this arc is going to finish knowing Sandra Oh is leaving.

I really hope Shane gets fired! He is so annoying

  • Finally, Grey's Anatomy is back.

    9.0
Season 10 has been kind of disappointing, let's face it, and I'm saying this as a fan.

Seasons 1 to 3 have been AMAZING, 4 to 7 quite good, 8 and 9 had their ups and downs, season 10 was mostly either annoying or boring (did they really have to stretch some of the storylines for so many episodes???).

But this episode was a solid one. After half a season of people avoiding their own issues, each character was forced to deal with his/her problem, dilemma, mistake or choice. FINALLY.

I get building the drama, but I slowly got from "I can't wait an entire week!!!" to "Oh, I DVRed Grey's Anatomy too!" and that's too bad, cause there's still some potential left, as proved this week.

    Some random thoughts:

FINALLY Jackson got it right, as we all knew he would (again, dragging a storyline for too long), and the writers found a way to make a great scene out of it. Good job.

Justin Chambers is doing (as always) a remarkable job. Karev is my favourite doctor, mostly thanks to Chambers' great acting (gotta love his face at the end of the episode!).moreless
  • Brilliant episode !!!

    10
So many unexpected undercurrents packed seemlessly into a cracking cliffhanger.

Lots to look forward we didn't have to wait so long.

    • Jo: Hey! You made it. (Alex grabs her and kisses her) Wow. Hi.
Alex: We're the only family we need, right? And we'll be together forever, right? You and me. And if we have kids, we'll be great. I'll be a great dad, and you'll be great, and it'll be just us. We won't need anybody else, okay?
      Jo: Yes. Absolutely. (they kiss)

    • Meredith: And how are the kids?
Derek: Zola cried 'cause she couldn't come with, but they're fine now.
Meredith: Oh, she's spoiled from having you around so much now.
      Derek: You look spectacular.
Meredith: Thank you. Hey, um, listen, I just wanna thank you because this research is gonna take so much more time that I expected. And I couldn't do it without the time you're giving me. And I know you're turning down a lot of stuff, so thank you.
      Derek: It's my pleasure.

    • April: Chief! You came!
Owen: Of course, the whole hospital's practically here.
      April: Really?
Owen: Yeah. You're very well liked.
April (voice breaking): Okay, well, now you have to go, 'cause I'm gonna start crying. Because if it weren't for you, none of this would be happening to me.
Owen: You deserve it, all of it. And you look beautiful.
      April: Thank you.
      Owen: Congratulations.

    • April: Yang forgot. I knew one of you would forget. (Cristina walks in) Oh, thank you. I knew you'd make it. Okay, so when we get out there, Arizona's gonna take my bouquet. So if you and Meredith can be on either side of my train, I--
Cristina (to Mer): How dare you say I haven't changed.
Meredith: I don't have to justify my choices to you, not one.
Cristina: How dare you say I am the same person I was when I got here, before I knew Burke and Owen and you. Your life looks different because it's filled with houses and husbands and kids. And my mine looks the same, but I'm not. I've changed. I'm doing this alone. And that's... that's just as hard as what you're doing. But I thought I would at least have you.
Meredith: I'm so jealous of you, I wanna set things on fire. You did what I tried to do, and I couldn't. And you don't even know how you did it. You have nothing but time and focus. You're not who we were when we got here. You are who we both set out to be.
Cristina: And you've become something... we never saw coming. You are as good a mother as you are a surgeon. And I'm happy for you. But we are growing apart.
Meredith: I know. And I don't wanna compete with you, but I do, because we're supposed to push each other and make each other better forever. Since the day we met, right?
      Cristina: Right.
      Meredith: Okay, so then--
Cristina: God, I know. I'm so glad because--
April: Oh! Shut up! Today is not the day. (pointing to Mer & Cristina) You two-- Super neat that you're working your crap out, but not today. (to Arizona) And you! You know what? Stop talking about adultery on my wedding day, because it is my wedding day! I should be feeling very special right now. I should be flounced and fluffed up and checked over and handed tissues and told not to cry with joy. So just-- You know what? Stop thinking about you, and you make me feel special.
Cristina: Would you like a tissue?
      Arizona: You look good.

    • Shane (about Jimmy): Acute M.R. He might have a chordal rupture. We won't know until we open him up.
Leah: I paged you to get Yang. Yang is his doctor.
Shane: Yang's at the wedding. I'm here. Besides, I treated him. I did a pericardial window by myself. I know what I'm doing.
Leah: Then find Russell or page the on call doctor.
Shane (to nurse): Ruth, clear an O.R. right now, and prep him for a sternotomy.
Ruth: Dr. Ross, I don't think so. We should wait for an attending.
Shane: You wanna wait? We'll wait. Then you can explain to the attending how this man died because you wouldn't let me help him. Is that what you wanna do?

    • Arizona (voice breaks): You look so beautiful. (sobs)
April: Aw, that's really sweet. But, uh... You're gonna be all puffy if you keep that up. (Arizona laughs, and takes the tissue April handed her) Are you gonna get it together?
Arizona (cries & laughs): Yeah. No, I'm fine. Callie's trying so hard to forgive me and to take care of me, and it's driving me crazy.
      April: I thought you wanted--
Arizona: I do! I do. I love her and I want her back. And I-I broke us. And I-- And I wanna fix it. But she wants to fix me. The reason that I cheated that night... someone was attracted to me. And she never knew me 'before.' She only knew me 'after.' And I was enough for her. And Callie-- You know, she knew me before and she loved me before. And now sometimes I-I feel like... (crying) I'm not... I'm not...
      April: You're not?
Arizona (sobs): It's not fair. It's not fair. It's not her fault. It's not her fault that I hate feeling this way. And Callie's just-- She's trying to-- to fix everything. And I'm finally feeling okay the way that I am now! And I'm-- I'm not sure that Callie will make me feel that way. (sobbing)
April (hugs her): I'm sorry that you're going through all this. Today. (rolls her eyes while still hugging Arizona)

    • (Arriving at April's wedding)
Bailey: So I spend all day in the lab. It'll-- It'll take a few weeks but I think I can cure this kid, medically. You know, once and for all.
Ben: What's going on with you, Miranda? You're handing surgeries over to residents. You're back in your lab, you know, where you hid when you first got that infection.
Bailey: Hey, what are you sayin'?
Ben: Well, I'm-- I'm worried you're quitting surgery.
Bailey: I see. Okay. While we're on the subject of quitting surgery, maybe it's time we talked about, uh, why the hell you up and quit surgery.
Ben: Look, I told you. I want my family. I need to be here. Hell, look at you. Do you think we would've got this under control if I hadn't been here?
Bailey: Did it ever occur to you that my symptoms got worse when you showed up, having quit your job?
Ben (chuckles): Okay. So, uh, that's what we're saying, is it?
      Bailey: Things about to start.
      Ben: Mm.

    • (Arriving at April's wedding)
Stephanie (picks up a box): Ooh! (reads it) 'Mint to be.' Cute!
Jackson (picks up another box): What is in these? (opens it and a butterfly flies out)
Stephanie: Oh, we're supposed to open those...
      Jackson: Oh, crap.
Stephanie: When they kiss. Nice. You just ruined Kepner's wedding.

    • (Arriving at April's wedding)
      Arizona: Ooh, it's so pretty.
Callie: Hey, uh, after this is over I wanna have a toast to celebrate.
Arizona: Oh, there'll be plenty of toasts.
Callie: Oh, no, no, no. For phase two.
      Arizona: Ah. Your research.
Callie: Well, our research. It's yours, too. You inspired it. I wouldn't be doing it without you.
      Arizona (voice breaking): Okay.
      Callie: Are you crying?
      Arizona: Yeah. You know... weddings.

    • Derek: You're gonna go to the wedding, right? 'Cause you've been yelling at people all day today.
Owen: Yeah, I'm gonna change and get Emma. Derek... The-- The Kleiss guys? It wasn't enough just to turn them down? You had to tear down everything that they're doing?
Derek: Do you think that I don't wanna help them? It's bad timing. And you need me to keep my focus here...
Owen: I know. I do, but--
Derek: To turn this place into an innovation hub.
Owen: It is a call to serve, Derek. It is a presidential initiative. The president asks you to serve? You serve. You do what is asked of you.
Derek: Well, your service was a calling and-- and a sacrifice. But this is about guys just trying to score some government money and stacking the deck with my name. I appreciate how you feel. I do. But this? This isn't that.

    • Jo: Hey. You're not going to the wedding, right? Can you cover my patients?
Leah: No, I am going, because when you stand up for what you deserve, you get it. And I deserve her. I am not gonna be thrown aside. I am going to that wedding, and I am going to stand up in front of everyone, and I'm gonna tell Arizona how I feel, and she's gonna be forced to deal with it. And I sound crazy. And this is the thing-- The thing that I do!
      Jo: Yeah, it is!
Leah (hugs Jo): Thank you! Thank you for not letting me do that. I got your patients.
      Jo: Thank you. (walks away)
      Leah: Oh, crap!
      Shane: What?
Leah: I just told Jo that I would cover her but I'm already at my 80 hours for the week.
Shane: Oh, I can fix that. Put in your password. (takes her tablet) Just go to 'menu'... and here is 'manual input.' Let's put you at... 60.
      Leah: You do this?
      Shane: I can't believe you don't.
      Leah: When do you sleep?

    • Jimmy: Hey. I'm sorry. I--
Alex: You don't have to be sorry. I mean, it's like you said. You did your best, and... I turned out alright, so...
Jimmy: Thanks. I just want my family back again.
Alex: We're not family. Alright, I turned out alright because you left. Aaron and Amber and Mom-- They're okay now because you left. If you'd stay, I'd probably be selling beer or something. Or maybe I would've followed in your footsteps and O.D'ed by now. But you left us, thank God. So you can stop beating yourself up. Maybe you can fix it with your kid in Florida. Good luck with that. Bye, Jimmy. (shakes his hand)

    • Meredith: I can't compete as a mother and as a surgeon. You just don't think I can compete against you.
Cristina: You can't, because, Mer, this is all I do. This is all I want to do. So don't whine to me because you made a decision you regret now.
Meredith: You think I regret my family?!
Cristina: I think you feel left behind. And that sucks for you, but no one forced you out of the game.
Meredith: I'm not out of the game. I just won't sabotage my friends to win it!
Cristina: Oh. Oh, is that what I do?
Meredith: That's what sharks do. You called it our first day.
Cristina: Well, as I recall, I was talking about you.
Meredith: How long have you been sleeping with Shane? (Cristina looks shocked) He blushes at an exposed ankle. He saw you in your underwear and didn't bat an eye.
Cristina: That is none of your business!
Meredith: You don't have to justify it to me. He's just hooking up with the best teacher to make sure he can get everything he can. It's what you did all through med school and all through intern year. Congratulations. You've become the thing you worship.
Cristina: And you became the thing we laughed at.

    • April & Matthew (to each other): What are you doing here?! (they hide on opposite sides of the wall)
      Matthew: I'm working.
      April: On our wedding day?
Matthew: I have to earn enough to take time off after our wedding day.
      April (sighs): You saw me.
Matthew: Barely. I-I didn't see your dress. I didn't see your hair. Do you have a really big hat on?
April: This is such bad luck. Such bad luck!
Matthew: No, no, no, no. It's good. It's good, 'cause... If the first time I saw you today was in the dress with the hair, looking that beautiful, I would just be reminded of how much I don't deserve you, and I'd probably pass out. And we'd wind up back here, we wouldn't be married. They'd have to cut off my suit, and I'm still paying for it. (April laughs) I'm glad I saw you like this, 'cause I'm gonna see you like this a lot more than I'll see you like that for the rest of our lives. And I love you like this.
April: I love you, too. I can't wait. Oh! Hey, don't forget black socks.

    • Stephanie (about their patient): What do you think he said to her?
Jackson: No idea. Though, I don't think there's much they wouldn't say to each other.
Stephanie: Right? How do you get to that point?
Jackson: There's nothing that I wouldn't say to you.
Stephanie: Oh, I doubt that. We are nowhere near that point.
Jackson: You shed. You shed hair. You shed bras.
Stephanie: That is untrue and unkind.
Jackson: You stay over my place for the weekend, and there's hair all over every pillow, and a bra on every door knob. You got a bra in my silverwear drawer.
Stephanie: Oh, which one? Was it blue?
Jackson: How do you have so many bras?
Stephanie: Well, you have angry face.
      Jackson: I have angry face?
Stephanie: Yeah, when you are thinking or solving a problem or just counting change, people think you're pissed off.
Jackson: Well, I'm not pissed off.
Stephanie: Well, I know. It's just your face.
      Jackson: I'm getting pissed off.
Stephanie: Well, then you should smile more. (Jackson laughs) You have a beautiful smile. (about the patient) I think he said he loved her.
Jackson: Maybe. Say it loud and go from there.
      Stephanie: What?
Jackson: No, it's something Mark Sloan said to me once. He said uh, 'If you love somebody, you tell 'em even if you're scared, it'll cause problems or burn your life to the ground. Say it loud and go from there.'
      Stephanie: That's nice.

    • Callie: Are you gonna wear your high-heel leg? 'Cause it looks amazing. But you always get so sore after a while. Oh, also, it's on a farm. So it might be muddy. You--
      Arizona: I'll be fine.
Alex: Were you able to decompress the cord? Is he paralyzed?
Callie: Uh, it's too soon to tell.
Alex: You gonna tell the Dad?
      Callie: Tell the Dad what?
Arizona: The spinal injury was likely caused by the father transporting him.
Callie: Oh, god. You wait for an ambulance.
      Arizona: Well, he didn't know.
Callie: Yeah, well, and now maybe his kid might not walk? I mean, he would've been better off if he had just kept his hands off.
Arizona: Callie, stop it. His kid was hurt, and he was trying to fix it. Sometimes we try to make things better and we have no idea that we're actually causing more pain. Of course we don't tell him.

    • Cristina: You tell me how you can give 100% to your family, and 100% to your job. Uh, it's-- it's categorically impossible--
Meredith: Because you keep screwing with my research.
Cristina: Oh, god, Mer. My borrowing your printer had nothing to do with your dead sheep. Did you ever think maybe your research is failing all on its own?
Meredith: Right, because I'm a terrible doctor. We've established that.
Cristina: No, I never said that.
      Meredith: You said that--
Cristina: I never said that! But you said I was a terrible person over and over... because I don't agree with you. Because I'm committed to my work. Because I don't want a baby? When did I become such a monster to you?
Shane (opens door): Can I talk to you?
Cristina: Oh, jesus. Shane, go away.
Shane: I thought that they should hear what you did, and you downplayed it.
Cristina: Shane, I said get out. Go home!
      Shane: And I was right.
      Cristina: What?
Shane (hands her a piece of paper): An e-mail from the Harper Avery foundation requesting a case study and patient status.
      Cristina: What?
Shane: You're in consideration for this year's award.

    • Leah: I owe you an apology.I shouldn't have spoken to you that way.
Bailey: Why? You got what you wanted. And you were right. Part of my job is to teach you. I haven't been doing that.
Leah: I wasn't sure if I was being rewarded or punished.
Bailey: Part of my mystique. Never be afraid to stand up for yourself. Just be sure you're right when you do.
Leah: That's so true. I have to stand up for what I deserve. That is so incredibly true.
Bailey: I know, I said it.

    • Tim: Just guide us in what we're doing.
Derek: No, not if this is what you're doing.
Kleiss Representative: Wait, you think that there's something wrong with our approach?
Tim: Our method is the bleeding...
Derek: Your method couldn't map the human sphincter.
      Owen: Derek.
Derek: I'm sorry. I'm sorry but they made me. (sighs) You're looking at a planet. I'm saying step back... and look at the universe. You don't kiss someone by puckering your lips. You see someone and you remember why you desire them. Your sympathetic nervous system quickens your pulse, your frontal lobe lowers your inhibitions, and you need to kiss them. It happens all at once. We're impulsive and compulsive. That's how the brain works.
Kleiss Representative: Stop looking at what we do. Look at why we do it.

    • (While they are getting their dresses fitted)
Meredith: I saw your uh, press conference. What happened to you up there?
Cristina: I was supposed to tell them what I did, but I'm not totally sure.
      Meredith: What do you mean?
Cristina: I'm not sure why the kid is still alive.
Meredith: The conduit? You thought it would fail?
Cristina: It did fail. We adjusted, but I don't know what I did, Mer. It's like slapping the side of a T.V. I fixed it, but I'm not sure how. I feel like a complete fraud.
Meredith: So you just went ahead anyway? I mean, you didn't mention that to anyone?
Cristina: Well... To who, Mer? You weren't talking to me, Alex was against me. I had no one. I had no choice. It was his best shot.
Meredith: Wow. You are right. We are in two completely different places.
      Cristina: Mer, please--
Meredith: No, I mean, I-- I may overreach, and I may have something to prove, but... I will never be as arrogant as you are.
Cristina: You know what, Meredith? Go to hell. I have listened to your crap for weeks now, and I'm not gonna stand here and take it anymore.

    • April: Meredith!
Meredith: April, what are you doing? Oh, god. Are you making a break for it? Don't worry. I know what to do.
April: Really? Why does everybody think I'm running? I'm not running. Come with me. (grabs Mer's arm)
      Meredith: But I--
April: No! You've bailed on every single one of your fittings for your bridesmaids dress, so... (opens a door, an Cristina is already getting fitted) I brought the seamstress to you. You will look pretty for my wedding.
      Seamstress: Hello. No clothes please.
April (to Mer & Cristina): You guys are supposed to be doing this stuff for me. (shuts door)

    • Callie: Okay, I can fuse C-5 and C-6 but I have to work fast if we even want a shot at avoiding paralysis.
Arizona: Oh, thank you. You're a genius. (to nurse) 10 blade.
Callie: I am actually, well, sort of a genius. Derek and I start phase two today-- Tactile pressure feedback.
      Arizona: Awesome, good for you.
Callie: Well, it's good for you, too. The goal is a prosthetic leg, uh, as sensitive and responsive as the one that you lost. Get you back to where you were. Okay, um, prep the neck. I'm gonna go scrub. (walks out, Alex walks in)
Arizona: Hey, I told you I'd call you if I need you. How's your dad?
Alex: Where do you want me?
Arizona: Grab a clamp. Help me find the bleeders.

    • Alex: I got a question. I recognized you the first time I saw you. How do you forget a wife and three kids? How-- How do you do that?
Jimmy: I made such a mess of everything. The more time went by, the more drugs I did, the more I let myself forget 'cause I couldn't stand myself. You know? I remember you, though. I remember you used to laugh in your sleep.
Alex: Well, that's when I was like, 4, right?
Jimmy: You were just a happy kid. I guess I fixed that, huh?
Alex: Yeah, I remember you took me to the fair once. It's uh, one of those travelling ones where all the rides are crappy and you might die. (they chuckle) But, uh, we rode every ride twice. It was a good night.
Jimmy: I remember that. Your mom was having a meltdown. She was tearing the wallpaper off the walls, saying someone was hiding in there. (sighs) Ugh! That woman was such a damn mess--
Alex: What about this other family? I mean, how'd you leave it with them?
Jimmy: Better. I could maybe try and go back. Naomi's tough, but she's not your mother. She's not bug-eyed crazy.
Alex: All right, this has got to stop now. (scoffs) Mom was not the problem.
Jimmy: I'm not trying to bad-talk your mother, but you can't know what a strain it is being with someone like that.
Alex: Who do you think took care of her? Kept track of her? Got her committed so she wouldn't hurt herself? Who do you think took care of your kids?!
Jimmy: I did the best I could.
Alex: Oh, well, if that's your best than you should just hang it up! Your best is worthless! I was the dad! I was a kid, but I was the dad! You were nothing! You... were gone! You're worthless!

    • (Cristina is getting photos taken)
April: Ugh! There you are. (to the photographers) Yes, she is the magical healer of children. (to Cristina) But you're done now, right? You're done? Can we go? (grabs Cristina's arm and pulls her away) Please come with me.
Cristina: Why are you here? (April sighs) Are you bailing on your wedding?
April: What? No! I'm not bailing-- Why would you say that? No, I need you. Come with me.

    • (After Leah makes a comment about someone not having surgery)
Bailey: You don't think this young man's had enough surgery?
      Leah: Yes ma'am. I'm sorry.
Bailey: Damn right, you sorry. Now let's go open up my lab.
Leah: No! I haven't had enough surgery. I have waited and waited for you to get back in the O.R, and damn it, enough is enough. I'm here to study surgery, and I'm being left behind. And I deserve better than this. So I... (Bailey glares at her) I'm just tired. Let's go.
Bailey: We need to do Elliot's procedure once more, to get the samples I need. And you will perform it, beginning to end. Prep the man.
      Leah: Thank you.

    • (April has curlers in her hair)
      Jackson: Wow. You look...
April: Nope! No. Don't say I look nice.
Jackson: ...like a train wreck. But I can see where it's going. Um, what are you doing here?
      April: I'm hunting bridesmaids.
Jackson: Now is that a farm tradition?
April: Are you gonna be there? Alright, I totally understand if you're not. I just--
Jackson: Do you want me to be there?
      April: Yes! Of course.
      Jackson: Then I'll be there.

    • Arizona: I got this. Why don't you go be with your dad?
      Alex: Nah, that's alright.
Arizona: What? You must have questions. Long-lost father? I mean, I'd have a billion.

    • Arizona: How's your dad? He's told all the nurses you're his kid. He's proud. How is he?
Alex: Don't know. Don't really care.

    • Leah: I'm not going. Bailey's doing surgery, finally. And I'd rather do that than watch Arizona stand up there looking gorgeous while I'm some pathetic, shriveled, leftover, discarded thing she scraped off her shoe.
      Jo: Ew!
      Stephanie: No, don't do that.
Leah: No! I know you think this is just what I do.
Owen (walking by): Oh, hey, hey! You're all going to the wedding, right?
      Jo & Stephanie: Yes.
Leah: Is it mandatory? (Owen continues walking)
      Jo: This is exactly--
      Stephanie: Exactly what you do.
Leah: No! I know what I do and this is not that. She was important. (voice breaking) We were something. (walks away)
Jo (to Stephanie): Maybe they were something.
      Stephanie: No.
      Jo: Nah.

    • Callie: So, first we determine the receptor field of all the sensors, right?
      Derek: Yeah.
Owen (walks in): Derek, the guys from Kleiss neuroscience will be here in 20.
Derek: Oh, I can't. I-- Once I'm done here I have to get Bailey to a music class.
      Callie: Um, what's this?
Derek: They wanna talk to me about a research thing.
Owen: It's not a just 'thing'. It is the presidential initiative on brain mapping. It is the thing.
Callie: Okay, no. (chuckles) We're starting phase two. Okay? He's my brain now. Meredith can have the rest, I get his brain.
Derek: I'll get rid of them.
Owen: No, you won't. You will say 'yes' to them. And you're both gonna be at Kepner's wedding, yes?
      Derek: Mmhmm.
      Callie: Uh huh.

    • (After her speech about Nathan's conduit)
Shane: I thought that went pretty well.
Cristina: You're off my service. And you've got to be over your hours. You should go home and take a day off.
      Shane: What?! What for?
Cristina: You don't know when to keep your mouth shut.
Shane: They needed to hear it was an extraordinary--
Cristina: I am not comfortable with you speaking for me, especially about this case.
Owen: Ross actually said what needed to be said. And you were not comfortable at all. You were tanking in there.
Shane (showing her the tablet): I'm only at 68 hours for the week, see?
Owen: 'J.A.M.A' wants an interview. It should be short. Conference room 'C'. (walks away)
Cristina (to Shane): I'm worried about you. You've been going too fast lately. And I'm not the only who noticed.
      Shane: Who?
      Cristina: It doesn't matter who.
Shane: Have I screwed up? Is my work not up to--
Cristina: No. You work is-- is great. It's just, you're becoming... You're going to burn yourself out.
Shane: I think I know what this is. You just need to work off some tension. (goes to touch her arm, Cristina pushes it away)
Cristina: We're not doing that anymore.
Shane: If you're worried that I think it's more than it is, I don't. It's just to relax you.
Cristina: It's you who needs to relax.
Shane: I'm fine. I'm sorry. Don't shut me out. I'm fine.
      Cristina: Ross, go home.

    • Richard: Good mornin'.
Bailey: Is that your name that I see on the O.R board this afternoon?
Richard: Well, it's just a chole. Getting my feet wet.
Ben: You gonna miss Kepner's wedding?
Richard: Well, I scheduled my first surgery when everyone will be gone. I-I didn't wanna make a big fuss.
Ben (to Bailey): You got a tumor debulking. You gonna be done in time?
Bailey: I will be done on time. (Ben kisses her and walks away)
Richard: You're operating, too, huh? The medication's helping? (Bailey shrugs) I'm proud of you, Bailey.
Bailey: I don't wanna make a big fuss.

    • Meredith: (closing voiceover) Failure is inevitable. Unavoidable. But failure should never get the last word. You have to hold on to want you want. You have to not take no for an answer, and take what's coming to you. Never give in. Never give up. Stand up and take it.

    • Meredith: (opening voiceover) Failure is an inevitability. Still, that shouldn't be a reason not to try. Every scientist was told no, over and over. The ones we remember, the ones who changed our lives, the Curies, the Salks, the Barnards, they're the ones who wouldn't take no for an answer.

    • Jackson: I love you, April. I always have. I love everything about you, even the things I don't like, I love. And I want you with me. I love you and I think that you love me too, do you?
