George's mom is admitted to the hospital. She comments on how proud she is of Meredith and how she's missed Callie. Callie is having a hard time breaking the news to George's mom about Arizona and her family. Callie eventually gathers her courage and blurts out everything to Mrs. O'Malley. She is very accepting of Callie's lifestyle.
Karev tries to block out the memory of George and the impact he's had on Seattle Grace. He is then reminded of the time he choked during an important surgery and George had to jump in to rescue h im. Also, the time he gave George syphilis.
Ever since the softball game, Jackson has been insecure about Lexie. He lets this get the best of him, causing him to back out of several important procedures with Mark and his team. Lexie transcribes a patient's novel, which is about a leading lady who realizes the man she's with may not be the right one after all. Jackson ends up realizing that his issues with Lexie are not worth his career and essentially chooses Mark and his surgeries over Lexie.
Cristina thinks she's gained some leeway with Teddy. Teddy leaves Cristina to babysit a heart in a box. Cristina ends up making a wishlist of all her surgeries. Chief Webber tells her to listen to the heart in the box and to let it direct her. Jackson takes this advice as well and they are inspired to be better doctors.
Teddy and Henry get into their first fight when Henry tells her he wants to go to med school. When Teddy returns home after a day at work, she sees Henry covered in blood, hemorrhaging.
