Episode Recap

People are buzzing about the merger and everyone wants to keep her job. Christina makes a shaky move to pediatrics but has trouble overcoming one major obstacle…she doesn't like kids. This fact is eventually exposed and , Callie, who gave her a chance in the ward is pissed. Fortunately, she has her new "Girlfriend," Arizona to console her.
Meanwhile, Izzy is getting antsy recovering at home so she goes back to work and starts out with a very strenuous surgery. Alex is worried as ever, about Izzie, trying to make sure she's safe and medicated at every turn. When all cuts are announced, none of the "crew" have been eliminated.
This episode revolves around a mom and son who were involved in a car accident. The son is a paranoid schizophrenic and the mom has a painful mass in her stomach which she's never had checked out. While Lexie is attending to the son's wound, he thinks he is out to get him so he attacks her and runs away but security catches up to him and he ends up tumbling down a set of stairs. News of her son's fall travels to the mom who now knows her aorta is about to burst but she doesn't want surgery because she doesn't want to leave her son. Lexie solves the problem by scheduling their 2 surgeries at the same time so they can stay together.
Meanwhile, Lexie and "Stinky Two" appear to be the only ones from their that didn't get cut. Lexie, Christina, Meredith and basically everyone at Seattle Grace is having meltdowns at this point so Alex and the guys motivate everyone to go get beers and play baseball til the next day when inevitably, more madness will ensue…
