Grey's Anatomy Season 6 Episode 3

People whine, people cry, people make awful jokes, people get angry (but only for a few moments, not long enough for it to actually be good). This describes your typical episode of Grey's Anatomy and tonight's episode was no different.





The show really needs to have something big happen. Have Meredith get fired, for example. That might actually create some interesting dynamics, get something going, light the fuel underneath the writers, and get people talking about the show again. Nobody cares about one of the no-name interns getting fired. Do something Shonda Rhimes, you are capable of better than this.

In the premiere, Grey's gave us a sneak peak of what to expect in season 6. And trying to make hay while the sun shines, the writers have leveraged very well by basing the story on layoffs we continue to see everyday.





The cast carry on with their daily chores, except that they take it up a notch to make themselves indispensable. Cristina takes up pediatrics, Izzy battles a 5-hour surgery, Lexie tries to take care of a schizophrenia patient, and Meredith stays calm taking a philosophical perspective. Finally something like 3/4 of the freshman docs gets laid off, along with nurse Olivia (who apparently had a major role in the first few seasons, and appeared in season 6 out of nowhere).





Nice episode, lets see how they take this forward.
