I'm gonna start with few things that made bad this epi and then move on to the best.

Something that may make this show worse is Meredith losing her thoughness, her willingness to fight and also her fortitude.

When she tried to commit suicide (or whatever) by drowning in the tub, that was awful, and really stupid of her. Then, the highlights of the chief? I really hated it, he seemed like a puppy sitting aside of the road. One thing of Cristina that I didn't like was her attitude of "it's a mess, how bad, whatever, I wanna scrub in!" The time goes by and she seems to be less and less human. And how to forget SIDNEY! How annoying can she be?!

Good things: the whole plot and tension. The first shot of the ferry on fire was absolute surprising (I knew it was a ferry, owing to the spoilers¬¬). I liked to see the human side of the doctors there, except Cristina. Cristina scenes when she tries to tell Mer about her engagement, really funny. Music was great, and the drama scenes were amazing.

The first part was as great as the other two parts.
  • The staff of Seattle Grace race to save the lives of people involved in a tragical disaster when a cargo ship strikes a ferry boat. The chief sends a team of interns out with a couple doctors to help where they can.

I was a bit confused in the beginning of this episode because i couldn't figure out if Grey was actually trying to drown herself in the bathtub or if she was simply trying to disappear for a few minutes to escape the world. Also apparently Izzie is either having a relapse of her bad depression since she's eating everything in the refridgerator including a tub of butter, or perhaps she never got over it and has just been pretending to do better. I thought the scene where Callie was telling Bailey about her sex life with George, in which Bailey responded "stop, right there. I don't need to know this!" was funny. I like Callie more and more every episode. I also thought it was funny when she told the flakey doctor "I bite." Burke puts pressure on Yang to tell all her friends about their engagement before he does it, but he seems to beat her to the punch anyway when he tells Derek, and then the news travels on down the grape vine as usual. On a more serious note the plot of this episode is absolutely horrible. I can't believe all those poor people. A very clever episode though. Since when do you ever hear of an accident involving ferry boats? I do remember asking myself when do they ever send a surgical team consisting of residents and interns to a multiple trauma disaster outside of the hospital? Isn't that what search and rescue, and EMT's are for? Alex finds a pregnent woman who he thinks is dead at first, and pulls her out of the water after pulling a concrete pillon off her. Her face is completely crushed to the point you can barely recognize her as a person. I have never seen a face look so horrible. It reminded me of the movie Mask that Cher played in. He seems to have become attached to her and really wants her to make it through surgery. So far it's not looking too good for her to be able to carry the baby to full term though. Meanwhile, George finds a woman who needs immediate surgery but won't have it until he finds her seven year old son, who George promised to find. He tries to ask Callie for help but she response by telling him she can't be his wife right now because she has to work on patients that need surgery. Izzie is confronted with a man that has multiple injuries and needs immediate attention and must get to the hospital, but he is pinned between two cars. Search and rescue was supposed to come help but they are busy with everything else going on, and it doesn't seem like they are going to get to the man in time. He starts to have a seizure and Izzie is faced with the fact that she's probably going to have to find a way to save this man without the help of search and rescue. Grey is faced with trying to do her job, and has to keep an eye on a little girl who got separated from her mother in the accident. She sends the girl with someone to bring her back to a triage tent, but he looses track of her when he tries to help someone. The girl finds her way back to Grey who has pulled a man out of the water that has been swimming and has a serious leg injury, where he is bleeding significantly and she must stop the bleeding to help him, while being preoccupied with the little girl. Grey sews his leg up to stop the bleeding and the man freaks out, kicking Grey over the ledge into the water. Oh my got i couldn't believe it. I can't wait to see the next episode.

The name of the show is Grey's anatomy so I guess Meredith will survive. But, oh, what an ending. Splash into the water. It just happened so fast and I didn't expect it at all. I wonder if the little lost girl will go and find McDreamy since she saw him and Meredith talk together before it happened. She was a good assistant so maybe she will get her saved in a way. I sure hope so. If not I don't know what I will do. This is seriously one of the most dramatic endings ever on Grey's anatomy. Can't see what happens next!

Good episode- lots of reli gud humour, and lots of development in all the romantic relationships in the show. I dont no if i lik the direction meres and mcdreamys relationship is goin tho, he seems genuinely hurt that she wont talk to him. izzys case was unreal and alex's too- i was on the edge of my seat for both!!! And wat a cliffhanger of an ending- i was screaming at the tv wen it ended- but 1 thing reli bugged me, can meredith not swim, and y was that little girl so calm??? ok 2 things....cant wait to see the next episode..........................

I loved this episode! The ending was brill and the song 'Make This Go On Forever' really matched to it. Alex showed his good side when he obviously cared about the pregnant Jane Doe. That girl with meridith is creepy but thats fair enough i guess. Thinking about it, it was setting up for something bad to happen with Cristina not telling Meridth etc.Izzie looked really scared throughout and who would blame her! That annoying resident - forget her name is so annoying! I loved this episode and the ending was shocking but brill! Next weeks looks so so good!
  • First part of the ferryboat disaster has mostly hits and some misses.

    9.0
    "Superb"
I thought this episode was a good starter to the next arc, but it was still not as great as the episodes of Season 2 when I think Grey's was at its peak. In retrospect, the Jane Doe storyline is definitely the most compelling, especially now that the Ava/Alex relationship has played out. Izzie's storyline was not as compelling to me mainly because she didn't seem to be accomplishing much and seemed mostly distressed about what she couldn't do. The little girl with Meredith was creepy, though I did like how good Meredith was with her. I couldn't believe that even if the little girl was shocked she would just walk away at the end of the episode. What truly made this episode a fine example to me were the parts with the drama about Burke and Christina's engagement, especially when Meredith seemed so angry at her at the beginning. The personal touches always make this show better.

This episode..... wow! Not only can I tell that it will be better than the "Code Black" arc that amazed us last year, just this episode is better in comparison to the Code Black episodes. The episode combines drama, anxiety, comedy and the need to keep watching. The acting in this episode is too fantastic. Some of the best acting I've seen in any show before. Not to mention how well the episode was plotted. Not only was the ferryboat disaster unique, but the way everything is played out in this episode, is genius (which is just what Shonda Rhimes is). Can't wait for the next two episodes, I only hope they are as awesome as this one!

  • It's such a chaos!!

I missed the episode before this episode, so i didn't know the answers of Christina and Callie. But what a episode! It's such a chaos. Meredith with that little child, who at the end is find by her mother. Izzy did a real good job and saved that man! Now I finally know who you mean when you are talking about 'Jane Doe'. That's the woman Alex saved! I feel really sorry for her. She looks so..bad! And she's pregned too! I'm glad her baby lives.

I don't like the end. I'll hope Meredith survives! But I guess she's going too. Without her it is boring, and why did they called this show then GREY's anatomy (meredith GREY). So I'm pretty sure she's stays alive.
  • Ferry boat catastrophe.

Mass casualty incident occured in Seattle and Seattle Grace Hospital is sending a team there to help people. Izzie stumbles upon a man who needs immediate care but can't help him. Alex finds a woman who he tought and everyone else dead but she was alive. George finds a woman who needs a surgery but refuses to have it because her son is missing. George is on the mission to find a boy. Meredith treats a man with a serious leg wound but in all of that panic he kicks her and she falls into water.

So far amazing first part of the three part story arc.

The disaster has always been a mainstay in hospital dramas. NBC's "ER" has at least one a year -- blizzard, multi-vehicle pileup, explosion, major fire, helicopter crash. Hey, it's one of the things hospitals have to handle. I've got no problem with having this as a plotline -- especially when it's done as well as this one!

First off, the premise is realistic. Probably more people are casualties of ferryboat accidents than any other waterborne form of transportation. Seattle gets lots of foggy weather, and it's just a matter of time before some freighter plows into a faster-moving ferry boat that travels its route in a routine fashion several times a day. I liked how the story did not dwell on the details of the accident nor did did it feature the spectacle of the scene. A few panning shots to show the vastness of the casualties was sufficient to impact the viewer with what the rescue and medical personnel were facing. And aren't these the characters we're following?

I liked how the interns were initially portrayed as fish out of water when they first got dropped at the scene. After all, they are used to doing what basically amounts to grunt work at Seattle Grace -- going for coffee, getting organ donor permissions, maybe an occasional wound stitching in the ER or scrubbing for surgery with the hope of clamping an artery. Now, they are actually expected to go out and be the doctors they have become and save some lives. And this they competently do, each in his/her own way. Izzie's "Shut up!" to the inquiry about her credentials was great.

I thought a key moment occurred when Bailey had to accompany a critical patient to SG and asked Shepherd to watch over her interns. She really does care about these doctors' welfare in spite of her persona as "the Nazi Derek's bewildered look said volumes about how much better suited she is for her job than he would ever be. Competent surgeon yes; teacher, no.

The quiet back at SG was realistic, too. Only so much you can do to prepare for the onslaught of incoming wounded. It gave Addison a chance to follow up with Richard on her own experience with hair-color change after a breakup. (That elevator scene early in the ep when she kept repeating "Leave him be" was one of the funniest interludes this series has had to offer!) This showed that she cares for and empathizes with the man. I'm going to miss her when she jumps to the spin-off.

One last item was the circular plotline surrounding Meredith. The episode opened with her submerged in a bathtub long enough to cause Derek to become anxious; and ended with her submerged in the cold waters of Seattle harbor long enough to make anyone anxious...
  • Another great Grey's action episode

    "Perfect"
I love it when they do this catastrophe big thingy something episodes, you know what I mean? There's so much drama in those and the writers always manage to combine the storylines and link them so perfectly. Like for example Meredith trying to drown herself in the bath tub - and then falling into the ocean in the end, how great was that connection?

Plus Cristina and Burke were... well.. Cristina and Burke and that's enough!

Izzie is in the field again, the Chief died his hair and Mark is so funny!

    Nice quote from the episode:

Derek: It just doesn't make sense. Ferry boats don't get in accidents. They're safe, they're reliable. The moment you take one for granted along comes a container ship and boom. I have a thing for ferry boats.
  • How the doctors handle day to day pressure!

    9.2
    "Superb"
Again a great show and this is why the show is a hit as people deal with things day to day as well as handle things under pressure. We see Meredith once more close to death as this may not also be the last time she does that. Alex shows a tender side of him that we haven't seen and glad that we did see a different side of him. Izzy is so cute and really helped out that person stuck in the car.
  • Once again, Merideth is dangerously close to death.

    9.7
    "Superb"
Just like the mega episodes of last season, Walk on Water proves to be one of the best Grey's Anatomy episodes to date.

Once again, Merideth is dangerously close to death, and though it's been done before, it doesn't make it any less nerve wracking.

My favourite storyline in this episode would have to be Izzy's. Her vulnerability and innocence when tending to the man under the car is a great aspect to her personality. Alex's story was also good, and it showed a side to him that has not often been seen, he actually has feeling towards his patient, and really wants her to be OK.

I didn't care much for the Burke/Christina storyline, it didn't drag the episode down, but i thought the time could have been better spent.

Merideth's presence in the episode didn't do much for me until the end.

It's funny how in most shows, a person falling into the water would be funny, yet Grey's Anatomy makes it extremely dramatic. Only a great show can do something like that.

Bring on Drowning on Dry Land...
  • So sad!

    "Perfect"
This episode was very sad! Poor Meredith was under water for soo long! it was very emotional! Very heroic how Derek pulled her out! He was crying during the episode! and you could see the impact she has on people's lives. The way Bailey just stopped when she heard it was her! The look on Addison's face. The way Izzie went into overdrive, George cried. Mer is Cristina's person so you could see how upset she was! Alex looked distraught too! Derek was sooo upset he even let Mark Sloan console him, which was shocking but shows they are not that far gone!
  • A violent boat crash leads the Grey's Anatomy team to play god in saving the lies of hundreds of dying people.

    9.0
    "Superb"
Not a big fan of Grey's Anatomy but this one made me watch. It was a little slow around the middle, but well done, with a wide variety of medical cases and mixed in the characters outside storyline very well. Very suspenseful and left everyone hanging in the last few seconds. Since, I'm not a routine Grey's Anatomy watcher I can't speak from experince, but I do think these next three episodes will be one of the best of the season, if not the series. I'll defintley have to tune in on February 15th, to see where this one's going, I just hope I'm not let down. P.S. Don't worry, they won't kill Meridith.
  • Disaster's happen, preparedness is the key! Our favorite characters portray everyday hero's and it's most evident in the face of overwhelming tragedy! Go American Red Cross!!!

    9.6
    "Superb"
I liked how this episode gave a brief glimpse into the chaos and mad rush of a major disaster. I found myself screaming into at my screen when the field unit got out of the ambulance and stood there momentarily gazing upon the scope of their first "Major Casualty Incident." The dichotomy between the hellish frenzy of the accident scene and the eerie calm before the patients arrived at the ER was surreal. Without giving too much more away I wonder what's going to happen in the next installment! Final note, I bet Alex would love to have someone experienced at liaising between the panicked family members and the other response agencies! ;)
  • Is this going to be the one?

    8.8
    "Great"
One of the things I like most about Grey's Anatomy is that I truly can't decide which episode is my favorite. And in so far I've tried to decide which were the most rememberable ones and failed deeply in coming to a conclusion. But it seems the search is coming to an end.

This episode has a lot of things going on. And before anything else, let me say that it doesn't work out any of them. But still there are major plots being started and although I don't like much this sequel tool many series use too much nowadays, there isn't enough time to work crearly all of them, which let us wonder: with such a great beggining, what we can hope from the sequel and the conclusion of this three-part story?

    Stay tuned to find out!
  • Great acting, great picture, great episode!

Oh my sweet mother of God!! I have yet to recover from all the shocks I got on this episode. First of all, my jaw droped as soon as I saw the crash site. It was amaizing that was a great scene, the shot was perfect. I don't know if it was real or if it was digital but it sure was amaizing. Then, we have that pregnant girl that Alex found underneath that cement thing. That was awesome makeup work right there, her face really did look crushed! It was very sweet the way Alex was showing true caring for her and her baby too, I felt bad when they took her off his care when they got to the hospital. Third shock, that guy Izzie what helping, the one that was stuck under that car, oh my God, can you say Messed up? Something's fishy about that whole situation, I'm thinking that maybe they're lovers or he has some sort of problem with the law or something and they're not really calling the rescue team, maybe he even was the one who caused the whole mess to begin with. I guess I'll have to wait to find out. Fourth shock, that woman that lost her kid and didn't want to go into surgery before finding out what had happend to him. That was just heartbreaking, the way George looked at her it was horrible. I don't know what his look meant though, is the kid ok or not? And oh my Lord the fifth and biggest shock of all was at the end of the episode when Meredith fell over to the water!! What's going to happen with her? This is just nervewracking!! I can't wait to see the next episode!!

Oh my!A lot of drama, action, doc drama....as usual.

Geez, Meredith is in medical danger during Feb. sweeps! Who would of thought? Not me for sure.Geez, that was predictable people, remember last year after the super bowl with the bomb?

Anyway, other than that I liked the episode, maybe not my favorite but it was entertaining. I liked the action and the kid with Meredith was spooky. Loved the chiefs new look. Hated the Izzy story line. Thought Justin Chambers did a good job with his role and the pregnant woman. McDreamy has been, well, McBoring lately. No wonder Patrick Dempsey is bored with his role ( see Details Mag). Cristina well....it is just the beginning of the 3 parter....

I am going to stop now before I really get started. Still love the show.
  • It was amazing! This episode kept my eyes wide open and I was squealing for at least half of it. Theories about what will happen are bouncing through my mind! Warning: Spoilers!

    "Perfect"
This episode is definitely a must-see. The timing was so good. Just with the start of it having her drown herself. But it wasn't random! Her mom had been going through so much that it was really understandable. And Derek threw in such comic relief. Just him and the bathtub. Classic screenshot. The lines about the knight were a bit cheesy, but otherwise well placed. Good humor, funny pieces leading up to the big, dramatic revealing.

I was so excited. I never even imagined it was a ferry boat accident. And the reasons are still unknown! But now Izzie's inside it, and I don't wanna think about what those other guys could do to her if she can't save their friend. I'm worried about her.

Then Alex. That part where he found the body, then it was alive! She was pregnant! But she has no face! I know she is probably just so grateful to Alex for saving her, but at first, I thought that he was the father!

And Cristina. Her and Burke just got engaged, and know they are on the rocks. Funny thing is that she still calls him Burke. However, once she marries him, won't that also be her name? Just funny speculation. Calley O'Malley is GREAT!!

George wasn't that crucial to this episode, but the funny thing is that he is living in a hotel with his wife, while Izzie is begging him to come back. Question: Does Calley come with him if he does go back?

Finally: Meredith! The ending was reminiscent of the beginning. I'm almost worried that Derek will think she tried to drown herself again. But, at least he's on the right track. Hope they find her. The previews were FREAKY. And then that little girl. My dad thinks that Meredith will adopt her. How cute would that be! For Christina to be engaged, George to be married, and Meredith to have a kid!

I can't wait for the next two episodes!!! Excitement!!!

This episode was amazing, it kept me glued to the tv and at the end of my seat the entire time. There were many different emotions and dynamics that were showing during this episode. McDreamy being a knight in shining whatever, Meredith becoming reserved and afraid, Izzie was put into a tough situation where she has a man's life in her hands (literally), McSteamy decides to start gossiping, Cristina gets mad at Burke(whats new), Burke opens up to McDreamy about personal stuff, and so on and so on. The one thing that kept me entertained was the little girl that followed Meredith around, forcing her to care about her. Then, as she was helping Meredith care for a man, Meredith is pushed into the water and the little girl just turns around and walks away....crazy! I'm an not patiently waiting for the next episode, I'm dying to see it!

I really loved this episode, I love all the Grey's episodes actually...I'm so much into disasters and the ferryboat crash was just awesome. I like so much the fact that the elevator is such an important elemnt in this show, there are so many funny scenes in there. Like that one with the Chief and his hair dyed, and Addison being so protective with him againsnt the Guys (Mark, Derek and Preston). I laughed so much at that scene, it was incredibly funny! The crash at some points stoped my heart beating, Izzy needed something like the guy under the car, I think, to 'wake' her up from what she was going through (that very morning she said to Meredith she's not sure what she believed in anymore). It will make her good to save that guy, or at least try her best to. I wonder what is going tohappen with Meredith now, that she was thrown away into the water, how long will it pass until they find her...will the little girl help in letting them know where she is?

I can't hardly wait for the next episode...Really good work!

Absolutely astonishing episode! The kind of segment that will give even more depth to some of the best drawn characters on television. This time, Grey's actually tossed in some truly creepy elements! The makeup work on the pregnant mother is incredible, and she is pretty hard to look at! The child who eerily walked away when Meredith was pushed into the water -- brings chills! The Chief's new hair -- just kidding. So, what happens next? Who will save Meredith? Is Chris alive and will his mother finally agree to surgery? Will Kourev be consumed by the angry mob? Will the pregnant mother and/or her child survive? What about Izzy and the guy trapped under the car? Will Cristina ever admit she's engaged? Will the Chief get highlights? LOVE this show!

Grey's is starting with February sweeps and they did a fair job. I'm sure if they made it one episode I'd surely give it a 10 and maybe if it was a two parter, but three parts is just way too draggy. I gave 9 because the plot was excellent. The only reason I did not give it a 10 was because the episode did not hit me. It was missing a factor that I needed. The originality factor. This episode reminded me of the bomb episode. I do love the many patients though and the ending where Grey falls in the water. Great job!

omg that was an xelent episode, i mean the ferry boat accident blew me away i di not expect anything like that at all. The scenes between Addison Montgomery n Alex Karev were cute, he has changed so much! he n Addy r good for each other, but so would Addy n Mark Sloan..... I love the way the writers connected the beginning with the end wif mer like "DROWNING", with emphasis on the drowning she cant die its GREYS anatomy, hence "greys" its about merideth, they need to save her NOW! well i guess it is a long agonising wait til next wk to see if they save her

seriously.. the first part of the 3-part "superbowl" episode.. i love the way they left us all hanging and wondering what the heck is going on.. oh, i'll start from the beginning.. it's obvious that there was something bothering meredith and same goes for izzie.. the chief dying his hair?!! this scene goes out as one of my favorite scenes.. the male attendings were like children with mommy addison.. couldn't stop laughing! sidney was ABSOLUTELY irritating! (i can hear her voice at the back of my head!) that scene with bailey was priceless.. lol then the thing with the ferry (which derek has a thing for.. ;)) everything was just.. a mess.. bodies here and there, blood, smoke.. i think the writer's are starting to show alex's soft side.. with the pregnant lady and all.. that's a-okay for me.. izzie was in a i-dont-believe-in-myself-anymore mode.. she's become irritating the past episodes.. that little girl that everyone was talking about.. i wonder how come there wasn't a tiny bit of splash when meredith fell.. weird.. there isnt really much to talk about now as the story is just unfolding but im sure the next episode will be absolutely spectacular..

The chief dyed his hair and everyone is wondering why. So while he is going up in the elevator mark, Derk, and Burk ask. Then Addison gets really pissed off because the chief’s wife just dumped him. And they aren’t helping him at all. Meanwhile Christina is trying to figure out an easy way to tell Meredith that Burk and her gat engaged. Then there is a major problem; a fairy crash and about 1,000 people died or are injured. So the chief sends a team: Meredith, gorge, Alex; Izzie, Bailey, and then after a while he also sends Derk. So like when everyone gets there they are all shocked. Izzie goes and helps a guy under a car. Meredith finds a lost girl who she keeps with her cause the little girl wouldn’t leave her side. Meredith is helping a guy that swam to shore after the explosion. But he has a glass shard in his left leg. But in the end that guy twitches and throws Meredith over into the water were she kind of drowns. Meanwhile with Alex, he saves pregnant women out under a pole. Gorge and Bailey are helping various people. Christina, Burk, Derk, Mark, and the chief are all at the hospital waiting for the patients. Burk tells Derk about him and Christina getting engaged, but Mark tells the chief who congratulates Christina. She gets mad cause she wanted to tell Meredith first. Burk tells her that she had all day to tell her and she didn’t so she didn’t say anything. So that’s what happened in part 1. I wonder if part 2 is going to be better than this episode.

it's just started in a normal grey's things you know the elevator and the funny talk and expresions who knew what was going to happen espetialy the ending i can't wait to see what's happen to Mer. I'm starting to like Alex more these days with the whole nice behaivour and I can't wait for the new couple I mean it has to be new couple the Addex(Addison-Alex)couple. This is the first time Meredith to show with a child. we never see her intracting with this side of her and dealing with the little girl was so smart..

George I see trouble for the Omallie family..
