Meredith and Derek make progress with their clinical trial as its last patient is cured. While Alex struggles to deal with Rebecca's suicide attempt, Lexi is in shock over a revelation about George. Cristina's spirits are finally boosted as she takes charge of the coveted sparkle pager. As the episode ends, Derek and Meredith decide to get back together and the chief returns to his wife Adele.
