  • I felt this was a very good episode, and enjoyed it even though I dreaded it for a week.

    9.6
Personally, I feel just horrible for George, Meredith fell of the pedestal that he had her on, and Meredith should be considered a bitca for what she did to George. However, I do believe George is a fighter and he will get back on his feet, and find someone else maybe Cally or Olivia. I think George will eventually get over and forgive Meredith, and down the road they will become friends. I don't think George will ever see Meredith in the same way again as he did before the incident. He may forgive her before the others, because he is such a nice and empathetic person. I too loved the fact he did the narration, because I think it was appropriate, and brings a different perspective to the viewers. I think that George thinks that what happened to him with Meredith is karmic retribution for what he did to Olivia earlier. (If that's the case, I hope that I don't fall down the stairs because I kind of chuckled when he fell, but that was typical George. )

I also feel bad for Meredith, and maybe this is the wake-up call she needs to get off the downward path that she is on. I do think sleeping with George will be rock bottom for her, meaning being with George was horrible, but how she acted during sleeping with George was rock bottom. I hope this incident makes her realize that her life is going downhill, and she can't treat the people around her like that. I do believe she will redeemed because she is a good person somewhere. I don't know how she will be redeemed, but she will.

Maybe George should never have sex again, because the last two times he had sex, he got syphilis and then what happened with Meredith, he should be celibate from now on.

I also felt bad for Alex for Izzie blowing him off for Denny, who is a great guy, but Alex is a great match for Izzie and does care for him.

I really enjoyed the episode even though I was dreading it because I did not want to see George hurt, and I knew it was going to happen.moreless
  • Pivotal as well, this episode nearly killed me.

    10
Wow, this was an amazing episode. As all viewers know from the last episode, George said all the right things at the right time to a depressed Meredith, and Congradulations George, you got her in bed. But from there everything went down hill. Talk about a tearjerker episode. When Christina got upset at Meredith for hurting George, Christina was so right! Meredith will have to work hard to become a good person in the eye of the viewers after this episode. One problem with the writers on this show is that they like to "clean up" situations too fast (ie. the doctor that apparently has a thing for George), but if they are smart they will let this linger until the end of the season. Good drama will come from this brutal attack from Meredith. I am still recovering from the final scene! This was a well-done episode, and if you haven't seen it yet, watch it now! No, wait, watch "Yesterday" first and then watch this! Grab a box of kleenx.moreless
  • Great episode! The interns start to take sides after they find out what ahppened between Meredith and Geroge.

    10
This episode was one of the best. We found out what really happened between Mer and George and we see the aftermath. The interns start taking side - mainly Izzy tells Mer flat out that she was wrong in doing what she did.

George finally grows a spine and stands up for himself. Because he is finally over Meredith and she has fallen off the pedistal that she was put on, George can finally start getting on with his life. He even meets a new hot Dr. Torres, who gives him her number. That will definately be interesting.

There was some great intereactions going on with Addison this episode. Hilareous scence between Addison and Bailey after it comes out that karma has lead her to get poison oak on her private bits. This also leads to a great moment between Addison and McDreamy, where they actually act like they are friends, and may have once been in love.

Izzy dismisses Alex as a sex-buddy, as she forgets all about him in order to go on a date with Denny, a patient who needs a heart. Who knows where this will go, but I personally like seeing her ignore Alex for once. And this is all happening while Alex thinks that things are finally going good for him, and that they are seeing each other.

It also surprised me that George anded up on Burke and Cristinas couch. Should make for some great comic relief in the coming episodes if he stays there!moreless
  • In this episode, George and Meredith definately experience a lot of tension and she and Derek decide to be just friends. What can come of this?

    9.8
This episode was great, but not my favorite. Right now, I'm kind of hating Meredith- she hurt George so much!! But that thing that George said about tempting karma, I definately agree. By being "just friends", Derek and Meredith are definately risking getting back together. They are both in love with each other, but it wouldn't be right if they got back together because he is still married to his b***** wife, Addison. That scene when Meredith was crying when she and George were in bed together was so sad. I knew that she was only sleeping with George because she was sad about Derek, but couldn't she have waited to break down until he was out of her bed? And I think it was so sad that George left Meredith's, but he definately has a thing for that other doctor(I can't remember her name). When he was walking out of Meredith's room, it was so sad when he said "I don't love you anymore." You know that he does, it's just that he can't forgive her for crying over having sex with him.

Addison's situation was so funny, and it gave her and her husband a chance to have a joking moment after the tension in their relationship when Mark came back. I love that Bailey dealt with Addison's problem even though she is on maternity leave. Overall, this was a great episode but I just hope Meredith gets nicer soon.moreless
  • Explosion, psh, what explosion?

    7.0
Overall, I love the show. I have been watching it from the beginning, but there have been some things that just don't make sense. After the explosion of the bomb everyone just went back to normal immediately. Is it just me or does that seem kinda weird? I know if a bomb exploded in the hall right near me and my head bounced off the ground like Meredith\'s did, you would be able to tell that there was a serious incident prior. Also I don\'t expect that a new mother who almost lost her husband would be back trying to help others so quickly. I guess an explosion means nothing, huh?moreless

  • TRIVIA (2)

    • Goof: One patient's father says that his daughter is a junior at U Dub and that she has made the honor roll the last three semesters. U Dub, short for the University of Washington, is on a Quarter system, not a Semester system.

    • Goof: When Izzie is paged by Alex and he gives her a cupcake. She says "Ooh" but her mouth doesn't move.

  • QUOTES (27)

    • Olivia: If she can't love him back the way he loves her ... then she doesn't deserve him.
George: You heard about me and Meredith?
Olivia: Well everyone heard. George, you were yelling about it in the hallway. (George sighs) Must've sucked. I'm sorry.
George: I'm sorry. Um- If I made you feel anything like I'm feeling right now. ... I'm sorry.
      Olivia: That's nice to hear.

    • Addison: I'm gonna show you something and when I do you do not get to laugh and you do not get to gloat.
      Derek: Why would I gloat?
Addison: I have poison oak. (Derek pulls back the curtain and sees Addison sitting there)
Derek: What? (Addison lifts up the sheet covering her legs, Derek looks) Hmm. You do indeed have poison oak. (Addison looks pissed. Derek is trying not to smile)
Addison (yells): So are we even yet? I mean is this bad enough? Have we repaid my debt to society, Derek? (Derek starts laughing. Addison throws a pillow at him, he throws it back. She too starts to laugh)
Derek (amused): Alright. Let's take a look.
      Addison: Get out!

    • Denny: Do you believe in karma?
      Izzie: Actually I do.
Denny: I think you might be mine.
Izzie: You must have been very, very good to deserve me.

    • Callie: Dr. George O'Malley. You're the heart in the elevator guy!
      George: Yeah, that's me.
      Callie (smiles): That was amazing.
George: Uh, thanks. I uh dislocated my shoulder.
Callie (looks at his shoulder): Yeah. I can see that.
George: It's not really so bad.
Callie: Yes, it is. Pick your poison.
George: Uh ... no pain killers, thanks.
      Callie: Bold choice.
George: No I just, ah officially I'm on duty.
Callie (chuckles): And planning to stay?
      George: Mmm.
      Callie: Bolder choice.
George: All I need is help ah, popping it back in.
Callie: You got into a fight?
George: I fell, I fell down some stairs. (Callie moves to the side where his arm is dislocated)
      Callie: Where? At your girlfriend's?
      George: What? No, I'm single.
Callie: Single, huh. (Callie pops his shoulder back in, and he groans loudly) It hurts less if you don't see it coming.

    • Izzie: What's going on?
Alex: The fetus is freaking out.
Izzie: I can see that. (she tries to grab his arm) Why are you freaking out? (George stops walking, Cristina walks up)
George: You think that someone is your friend you know. (Meredith looks ashamed and George is angry) You think at the very least she'd respect your privacy!
Cristina: What's going on? (George starts walking off again)
Alex: Baby boy is freaking out.
      Izzie: She can see that!
Cristina (at the same time): I can see that!
Izzie: Why is freaking out? (they follow George and Meredith who are a few feet ahead)
Meredith: George, can we at least talk?
George: I don't wanna talk! Not to you! I wanted to keep my mouth shut! And if you hadn't been running away from me every time you see me you would know that. (George enters the stairwell, and starts running down the stairs. Meredith follows)
Meredith: Okay, you're right but can we just talk now? (the others are following them)
George (yells): You wanna talk now because you told everyone that we had sex!
      Meredith (her eyes widen): Shh!
      Izzie: You had sex?!
Cristina: You had sex with George?!
      George: You didn't tell them?
      Meredith: No.
George: Damn it! (George moves to walk down the next flight of stairs, but ends up falling down them instead. All the girls yell concerned. Alex laughs, and Izzie hits him)

    • Denny: Hey, I was hoping I might get to see you.
Izzie: You're working us pretty hard around here.
Denny: The things I have to do to get a girl's attention.

    • Alex: What happened with you and O'Malley?
      Meredith: Nothing.
Alex: Well, whatever it is, I've done worse.
Meredith: How do you know I did something? How do you know George didn't do something?
Alex: Because Bambi looks pissed and you look guilty.
Meredith: Fine. I did something. A terrible, terrible something.

    • Addison: You didn't make a chart, did you?
Bailey: I did not make up a chart which means (Bailey puts on some gloves) we are officially stealing this calamine lotion and these gloves. You take it up with the Chief.
Addison (horrified): The Chief? No, no, no, no. I can not take this up with the Chief.
      Bailey: I'm just kidding.
Addison: Okay did I make jokes with you when you were in the stirrups?
Bailey: No, you did not. I'm apologizing.

    • Bailey: Oh, no.
Addison: Please, please don't say it.
Bailey: Addison, I'm so, so, sorry. You have poison oak, ... (Addison moans and lies back on the exam bed) where nobody wants to have poison oak.

    • George: Did Meredith say any- anything to anyone about anything?
Cristina: No. Are you gonna dish?
      George: No. (Cristina glares) No.
Cristina: Leave me alone, I'm working.
George: Well good because I don't want to talk about it. Ever.
      Cristina: Fine. Then don't.

    • (George creeps out of his room and we see that Meredith is also walking down the hallway also creeping quietly. She stops uncomfortable when see sees George and he stops too when sees her. All of sudden Izzie's bedroom door opens with a naked Alex pulling on his underwear and heading to the bathroom. Izzie steps out in her PJs)
Izzie: Morning. (she sees George) Morning. (they are silent) What? So I slept with him again. So I'm a big whore. Big horny whore who can't get enough. Can we get over the shocked silence already?

    • Addison: No it's okay. I'll walk Doc. You just s- sleep. Good. Fresh outdoors. Spring morning. You just sleep.
      Derek: Okay.
      Addison: Unless you wanna talk.
Derek (keeps his eyes closed, hugs his pillow): Oh god, here it comes.
Addison: It's just that you usually ... you start yelling you know when you get mad. And Mark showed up yesterday and you haven't yelled yet. I'm trying to give you a chance. So just go. Yell.
      Derek: I don't wanna yell.
Addison: You don't wanna yell? You?
Derek: I just want to sleep. (Doc barks) Doc here wants to pee. Preferably not inside this trailer.
Addison: Okay. (Derek sighs, Addison puts on hat) You could yell if you want to. I can take it! I'm ready!
Derek: Addison. (he takes a pillow and covers his head)
      Addison: Alright. I'm going.

    • George (closing voiceover): One way or another our karma will leave us to face ourselves. We can look our karma in the eye or we can wait for it to sneak up on us from behind. One way or another, our karma will always find us. And the truth is, as surgeons, we have more chances than most to set the balance in our favor. No matter how hard we try we can't escape our karma. It follows us home. I guess we can't really complain about our karma. It's not unfair. It's not unexpected. It just...evens the score. And even when we're about to do something we know will tempt karma to bite us in the ass... well, it goes without saying. We do it anyway.

    • Cristina: Stop pouting.
      George: I'm not pouting.
Cristina: Oh please, I don't even have to look at you, I can feel you pouting. Whatever Meredith did, it wasn't on purpose, so get over it already. (Burke clears his throat) I'm not being inappropriate, he's acting like she skinned his puppy.
      Burke: Yang, that's not nice.
Cristina: Well, I'm not a nice person.

    • George (opening voiceover): Okay, so sometimes, even the best of us make rash decisions. Bad decisions. Decisions we pretty much know we're going to regret the moment, the minute, especially the morning after. I mean maybe not regret regret, because at least, you know, we put ourselves out there, but still. Something inside us decides to do a crazy thing. A thing we know will probably turn around and bite us in the ass. Yet we do it anyway. What I'm saying is "we reap what we sow." What comes around goes around. It's karma. And anyway you slice it, karma sucks. Like I was saying: Payback is a bitch.

    • Alex: What are you doing?
      Meredith: Hiding.
Alex: Alright, so you slept with O'Malley. Get over it already.
      Meredith: He told you?
Alex: Eh... no. (Meredith glares at him. He looks shocked, but starts laughing) Oh, I was just kidding. Uh, I mean, it's not like I should be surprised.
      Meredith: Why not?
Alex: Because when your life is sucking you get drunk and sleep with inappropriate men. It's your thing. Whatever. I find it charming.
Meredith: You sleep with inappropriate women when you're sober.
Alex: One inappropriate woman and Izzie forgave me for that. O'Malley, he's not gonna get over this.
      Meredith: Izzie hasn't forgiven you.
Alex: Yes she has. We're together.
Meredith: No you're not. Izzie may be sleeping with you but she'll never see you the way she saw you before you slept with Olivia.
Alex: Why are you trying to piss me off?
Meredith: You're trying to suggest that it's forgivable for you to sleep with Olivia but not forgivable for me to sleep with George.

    • Meredith: There's a suitcase in the hall.
George: I was just getting my shirt.
      Meredith: There's a suitcase.
George: Yeah, I don't live here anymore. Excuse me... Why? I just wanna know...why you--if you didn't want to.
Meredith: I didn't know I didn't want to. You were there and you were saying all these perfect things and I was sad. And so I thought "Maybe...maybe I've just been overlooking what's been in front of me...and if I just give it a chance, because you're George and you're so great." I didn't know I didn't want to until I knew I didn't want to.
      George (sadly): Yeah. Okay.
Meredith: Can we please just go back to everything the way it was?
George (pause): I don't know how to go back. (pauses) No. I'm done. We're done.

    • (Seeing George and Meredith acting weird)
Alex: 10 bucks says O'Malley caught her doing Mark Sloan.
Izzie: There's something going on, I mean look at them.
Alex: All right, he walked in on her doing McDreamy. (Cristina and Izzie laugh) Did I just call that dude McDreamy?
Cristina: Oh, you know you did.
Alex (to Izzie): Awesome, you are ruining my life. (he moves to kiss her but Cristina hits his back)
Cristina: Get a room. (they move to walk up to George and Meredith)
      Izzie: Guys.
      George: Excuse me.
Izzie: Sorry. (moves out of his way) What's ah- what's a going on? (George and Meredith both give her a look)
      Meredith: Nothing.
Cristina: Oh, you know we're gonna find out anyway.
Izzie: You tell us and maybe we can help.
      George: There's nothing to tell.
Cristina: Oh, that means there's something to tell.
      George: Come on.
      Meredith: There's nothing to tell.

    • Bailey: No moving, no peeking, no pulling the curtain, just stand there and let her talk to you. Do you understand?
      Derek: Is this really necessary?
Bailey: I said do you understand?
      Derek: I'm not mentally challenged.
Bailey: I'm not so sure about that.

    • Bailey: Mind if I asked how this happened?
      Addison: I slept with Mark!
Bailey: Ooh. And he has poison oak on his... ?
Addison: No! I slept with Mark a year ago, and apparently this is what I get!
Bailey: Yeah. But how did you...
Addison (upset): I live in a trailer. I have Meredith Grey's dog and I went outside to throw a stick and I had to pee. So, I squatted because I didn't wanna go inside and wake up my husband because of the way he's been looking at me since yesterday. (starts crying) I just wanted a few minutes of peace and this is what I get!
Bailey: No, no, no, don't cry. (she keeps crying) Don't cry. Please, please don't cry! Stop! You're gonna make me (she moves her hands from her shirt showing that her shirt's wet) lactate.
Addison (still crying): I'm sorry. I'm sorry.

    • (Bailey is taking stuff to help Addison)
      Richard: I see you.
      Bailey: No, you don't.
Richard: Your husband was discharged over an hour ago.
      Bailey: I'm not here.
Richard: Go home. You're not working today, you're on maternity leave.
      Bailey: Exactly.

    • George: She really didn't tell you about it?
Cristina: No. God is that a bad thing?
George: Well she tells you everything. So it didn't even matter enough to her to talk about it.
Cristina: Okay George, the pity thing? Not good. If you want crappy things to stop happening to you then stop accepting crap and demand something more.

    • Burke (about George): He's your friend, he needed our help.
      Cristina: Are his problems surgical?
      Burke: No.
Cristina: Then technically he doesn't need our help.
      Burke: You're a good person.
      Cristina: I am not.

    • Meredith: He's gonna be okay, right?
Alex: He dislocated his shoulder. He's gonna be fine. (walks away)
Meredith: That's not exactly what I meant.
Izzie: Meredith, if you can't make this right, if you can't fix this with George... just so you know, if it comes to choosing sides, I'm on his. (walks away)
Cristina: He's the weaker kid. I mean, even I don't beat up on weaker kids, it's cheap.
Meredith (teary eyed): I did a terrible thing... I didn't... I did a terrible thing.
Cristina: He's been in love with you since day one, there's no way you didn't know that... (Meredith looks down) We all do terrible things.
      Meredith: Thank you.
      Cristina: You're welcome.

    • Derek: I've been paging you.
Bailey: I'm not here. I'm on maternity leave.
Derek: I've been paging my wife as well but she hasn't been answering either. You know where she is.
Bailey: Just because I know doesn't mean you should. (Derek looks confused) There's some things you don't get to know. Not from me and really you don't wanna know.
Derek: You have to tell me where she is. I saved your husband's life.
      Bailey: She saved my baby.
      Derek: So baby trumps husband?
      Bailey: Mmmhmm.
      Derek: Baby trumps husband?!

    • George: I believe in karma. You know I mean, good people deserve good things. At least that's how I thought the…universe worked.
Cristina: How can you think that and practice medicine?
George: Why- I'm not saying that everybody who gets sick or everybody who dies is bad. I'm just saying that ah I think that there's a balance. Or there should be balance! I should- there should be some sort of balance. That's-- (he shrugs and mutters to himself)
Burke: Good God, O'Malley, What the hell did Grey do to you?

    • Meredith: I did a terrible thing.
Derek: We all do terrible things.
Meredith: No, I-I I did a thing that I-I can't even believe I did. And I was sad, and, ohh. I'm pretty sure I'm gonna lose all my friends.
      Derek: You won't lose me.
      Meredith: You're not my friend.
Derek: Yes I am. (she looks at him) Well then I could be. (he smiles) I'm a very good friend.
Meredith: No, we can't be friends.
Derek: We could be friends. You'd be lucky to have me.
Meredith: How? How can we be friends?
Derek: We could ah ... hangout. Mmmhmm. I walk Doc every other morning. Tiger Mountain Trail. We could meet. Have coffee. Watch Doc play and ... discuss the complex nature of our existence.
      Meredith: Right.
Derek: We could. Might be fun. I could be your friend Meredith.
Meredith: No, we can't be friends.
