If you were trying to get someone into Grounded for Life, this would be the episode to show them. This really just showed what Grounded for Life was all about. The parents act like children on the show, you never really know what's going on until the end, and the family dynamics are really impeccable.

It may go off the rails at times when it comes to delivering the story lines, but for some reason, Grounded for Life makes it work. I'm sure everyone's in a agreement when I say I'm not a fan of the Dean & Lilly relationship. But it did manage to bring some great story lines regardless.

I didn't expect the scotch to Sean & Claudia's. I also didn't expect that Brad ended up finishing the scotch. For the first time: Lilly is innocent. The bottle roll was a fantastic payoff. That scene that kept on repeating but with a little bit more of information. Amazing, that's what Grounded for Life should bring us week after week. Great episode, season 2 definitely has the classics.moreless
  • School dance brings out all the Finnerty's.

This episode is really funny and the music is really funny. Lily and Dean are thrown out of the Dance by Sister Helen when they are found with alcohol which of course doesn't belong to them. Sean and Claudia are suppose to be chaperoning but are having fun doing other things including drinking the alcohol they left there when they were students. The whole episode is really funny and I love how Sean and Claudia'a advice applies more to themselves than it does to Lily and Dean who were just looking for somewhere to make out. Sister Helen is funny as always and Brad is on the line of being pathetic.moreless

FILTER BY TYPE

  • TRIVIA (1)

    • BLOOPER - When Lily (Lynsey Bartilson) shoves Brad (Bret Harrison) out the front door at the end of the episode, the close-captioning has him saying something different. He screams out, "Tell me you didn't feel that spark!" but the close-captioning for him says "I'm sorry! I'm drunk." which is either a captioning goof, the original line in the script or a last minute improvisation.

  • QUOTES (2)

    • Lily: (As she's begin dragged out by nuns) I didn't do it! I didn't do it!
      Claudia: Think she did it?
      Sean: Probably.

    • Sean: Baby, do you hear that?
Claudia: Hear what? I can't hear anything.
Sean: Exactly. It's the sound of silence. We're alone. [turns off the lights, as "I Want To Know What Love is" by the Foreigner plays", and they start dancing]
Jimmy:[From Upstairs.] MOM! Henry bit me!
Henry: But he said he was a ghost!
      Claudia: Sing louder!
