    Trivia, Notes, Quotes and Allusions

    • TRIVIA (4)

      • This episode (part 1) was originally shot to air in March (or possibly February or April) for the Fox network. It ended up airing in September on the WB, and although the creators did not like the joke about the Christmas decorations being up so long referring to a date so vastly past the previous Christmas, the WB insisted that the time of year references in the script refer to September, thus the dubbing to insert the new references. After that initial airing, the episode aired with the correct March reference.

      • In this episode, Brad says he told his dad about him and Lily while taking a driving lesson. However, in "Drive Me Crazy," Brad offered to drive Lily somewhere because he already had his license.

      • During the opening segment, Dan O'Keefe comments on Sean taking down the Christmas decorations by saying that "It's not even Labor Day!" If you watch his mouth, it's obvious that the line was dubbed. His mouth says "Memorial Day."

      • When we first see Sean taking down the Christmas decorations, Lily yells "You know what's really sad, IT'S AUGUST!" Then after the angel broke Brad's nose Lily says "You ruined Christmas for him." Then in response Sean says "IT'S MARCH!" One of them must be very confused on the month.

    • QUOTES (3)

      • Brad: Your dad's gonna kill me!
Lily: Well, maybe if you hadn't told your dad, none of this would've happened!
Brad: I didn't mean to, it just slipped out! He was giving me a driving lesson and it wasn't going well.
Lily: Is that when you almost ran over the dog?
Brad: Yeah. And my dad said I was such an idiot, and even if I ever did get a girlfriend, I'd probably run over her dog, too, so I... just told him.
        Lily: And?
Brad: And then he got all misty on me so I gave him a hug and he took me to Macy's and bought me some pants. My father has never bought me pants before!

      • Eddie: Why is there a plastic angel covered with blood on the sidewalk?
Sean: It's not covered with blood. It's just got droplets of blood on it.
Eddie: Oh. Why is there a plastic angel with droplets of blood on it on the sidewalk?
Sean: It fell off the roof.
        Eddie: And it started bleeding?
Sean: No, it hit Brad O'Keefe in the nose!

      • Jimmy: If you need me, I'll be at the arcade, kickin' ass on Dance, Dance, Revolution!

    • NOTES (4)

      • When the episode became the first to air on the WB, the network wanted an hour long premiere, so part 2 was shot 10 months to the day from the time the first part was shot. This explains such apparent inconsistencies as differences in set details and why Griffin Frazen's voice had changed from one part to the next.

      • Tag scene: Sean and Eddie find out their coin collection isn't worth much. But they trick Brad into buying them.

      • The first half hour of this episode was originally shot last fall when FOX was still producing the show. It was intended to air in the spring on FOX but the episode was held back when Grounded For Life moved to The WB. The WB wanted to wait a little longer before having Lily lose her virginity. Parts of the episode which would offset the time it aired have been dubbed over (see trivia for an example)

      • Originally aired as an hour long episode with "Your Father Should Know 2"
