The headline in the Springfield Journal reads: "Make or Break Day for Spaulding-Lewis."
According to Vanessa, Bill Lewis is older than Grady Foley.
For a short time in the early '80s Vanessa Chamberlain was engaged to Alan Spaulding. Although she was in love with Billy Lewis at the time, Alan used Billy's preoccupation with business to woo Vanessa away from Billy. However, Billy refused to be kept from the woman he loved, and in February of 1984, he tossed Vanessa over his shoulder and demanded she marry him at once!
In this episode we, and Cassie, learn that Cyrus once stole a tiara from her while she was living as the Princess of San Cristobel. According to Cassie, the tiara was too heavy and she didn't mind that it had "gone missing."
In 2005, when Harley went to prison for the murder of Phillip Spaulding, she learned that the Prison Warden was none other than her ex-husband, A.C. Mallet. In May of 2005, Mallet helped Harley escape from prison and to clear her name.
Weeks after his arrest, the Springfield Police have finally removed Rafe's Wanted Posters from the wall of the Police Station. However, several copies can be found inside Marina's desk.
In 2005 Harley, Buzz Cooper's oldest daughter, was sent to prison after being convicted of Murder in the Second Degree. The victim, Phillip Spaulding, was actually shot by his father, Alan Spaulding, although it was not a fatal shooting.
Buzz tells Coop that he got his looks from his mother. Coop's mother was Jenna Bradshaw, a former jewel thief who met and fell in love with Buzz after a long and rather turbulent courtship. Jenna died in 1998 shortly after giving birth to Coop's younger brother, Ian Stavros "Rocky" Cooper.
According to Mallet, Dominick's Pizza is located in the safest part of town.
Coop says that some of the children in his class include; R.J. Winslow, Maureen Reardon, Clarissa Marler, and James Spaulding. However, each of these children are several years apart in age so it seems unlikely that Coop could teach every one of them.
The Reardon's, who first appeared on the show in 1980, were the original owners of Company Restaurant and the boarding house as well. In fact, originally it was the boarding house that was the focus of action on the show. The most famous story involving the Reardon Boarding House, as it was known, took place in 1980 when Roger Thorpe on the run and in disguise lived there while plotting to kidnap his daughter Christine, now known as Blake.
At the end of yesterday's episode Natalia had removed her jacket and unbuttoned her blouse in order to seduce Vince Russon. When today's episode started, Natalia's jacket was back on, although in the very next scene she has it off again.
In early 2007, Daisy traveled to Chicago to track down a mysterious woman named Natalia, who was connected to Gus' past. Upset when Gus rejected her advances and her constant rejection from Harley, Daisy set out to destroy their marriage by trying to convince Natalia to come to Springfield for a "party" she was throwing for Gus. After Daisy let it slip that Gus and Harley were having marital problems, Natalia decided to visit Springfield and see if she could reunite with her former lover and father of her child.
Although it has been months since she recovered, Olivia finally removes the sign naming the park after her. It is still unclear as to why she hasn't had it changed to the Gus Aitoro Memorial Park, in honor of the man who not only gave her his heart, but had the park dedicated in her honor in the first place.
In yesterday's episode, Cassie's neighbor Harris leaves a note on the barn saying that he borrowed the tractor. However, in today's episode, Cassie tells Harris if he still wants to borrow the tractor it would be alright. Doesn't he already have it!
In 2007 Dinah was shot in the head by Griggs, a loan shark who Mallet had once been employed by. As Griggs was about to shoot Mallet, Dinah stepped in front of him and took a bullet in the head.
In this episode we learn that the Spaulding's long time housekeeper, Hilda, has brothers who own both a hardware store and a feed store. We also learn that they are no longer speaking to her.
The note Alan hands to Lizzie in the hospital reads: "Who are you?"
Remy says that his car has been in the shop for weeks, yet earlier in the episode he claims that he "drove up" to visit Ava yesterday.
