Looks like Gunsmoke is finally going to released season by season!  Hope they stick with it for all 20 seasons.  Check out this article from TVShowsOnDVD.com:

Or you could just buy all 20 Seasons right now over at...

    http://www.wagontrainwest.com

I know they are not official releases like the ones that "gunsmokegal" pointed out, but you have to be impressed with the fact that someone actually took the time to get 635 episodes from 20 Seasons, in order and commercial free.

However the price is pretty steep, if you want the whole set it's $795.00, or you can buy whatever season you want for $74.50 per season. They say it's on over 145 DVD's (for the complete set) which is roughly 4 episodes per disc.

Unfortunately it is illegal for those people to be selling those episodes.  I would not condone buying those.  CBS owns the rights and are the only ones who can legally sell the episodes.  Buying illegal copies robs James Arness and the other creators of royalties for the sale of the shows.

Yeah... I know, and I feel kind of guilty buying them (I got an bootleg copy of season two off of eBay), but at the moment, it's the only way to get them without breaking the bank. If they start coming out with actual packaged seasons... believe me... that's what I'll be buying.

Has anyone gotten this version of season 1? Is the sound any better than it was on the Columbia House ones?
