AIRED:

Splendid production of Maxwell Anderson's comedy-drama also stars Geraldine Page as Socrates' nagging, headache of a wife and Anthony Quayle as the Spartan king who wants to trample Athcn's democracy into dust. Highpoint is Socrates trial in which he chooses hemlock rather than give up his principles. The dialogue is witty and lucid. But it's Ustinov's volatile humor which is memorable.
