  • Great show - real but upbeat

This movie shows (while keeping it all on a happy note for the most part) what it was truly like in the 40's for everyone, including farmers, POWs, and Japanese in the camps-even touching ever-so-gently on the "christian" attitude towards the people wrongfully interred in those camps. It also makes it plain that a man can love a woman and her child regardless of who fathered it, and his family can do the same. Shows there were good people out there (as there are now), along with those who are close-minded and small.
  • Classic Movie - any hope for a Sequel??

This movie was done so well to depict the American farming community during WWII in the 1940's. Music, costumes, characters, etc. are all in tune to that turbulant time in history. The actors/actresses such as Mare Winningham, Skeet Ulrich, and Keri Russell did such a fantastic job with their characters. Yes, it's an historical romance movie, but you need to watch the entire movie to see what happens. The dance scene was so much fun - you can tell they had a good time filming. Also, showing how the Japanese internment camps were used during WWII was a great historical marker. I really hope Hallmark makes a sequal to this movie!!
