Bijou's Favorite Ribbon
AIRED:
Bijou is in her cage admiring her ribbons and making herself look nice. She's thinking about Hamtaro, she likes how he really notices her when she's wearing her beautiful ribbons. At Laura's, Laura is experimenting with a variety of different hairstyles. She finally decides that she'll wear her pink ribbons today. She goes to get one, only to fink that Hamtaro has gobbled it and stuffed it in his cheek pouches! She tries to pull at a bit that's sticking out of Hamtaro's mouth. Hamtaro tries to clamp on, saying that he's not letting go, but Laura eventually frees the ribbon. Laura tells Hamtaro to be good. Her class is going on a field trip today. Hamtaro hears this and thinks that the ham-hams should have a field trip too. He heads to the clubhouse, where he finds something of a commotion. The ham-hams are upset at Stan, who says that he knows a really great place with acorns. However, he doesn't want to tell them where it is. They'll just take all of the acorns. Howdy calls him stingy, causing Dexter to snit that he isn't any better. Boss tries to threaten Stan, but it doesn't work. Hamtaro tries to opt for a peaceful selection. He wants everyone to just forget about what Stan's doing and play a game. However, no one likes the tired games that he suggests, such as hide-and-seek and cards. While they're debating, Bijou is off on her own looking in a mirror and admiring herself. Cappy comes up to her, but all he sees is one of her ribbons. Thinking it's pretty neat and not noticing that it's tied onto Bijou, he removes it. At Laura's school, Travis comes up to Laura and says that there's going to be a field trip and it'll be fun. He then leaves, causing Kana to complain that he didn't even notice Laura's ribbons. Laura meekly bluffs that she wasn't wearing them just for Travis. Back at the clubhouse, Bijou finally notices that her ribbon is missing. We see that Hamtaro is using it as part of a game of "Blind Man's Bluff" with the other ham-hams. Bijou stops him and demands her ribbon back. Hamtaro says he didn't realize it was Bijou's, which gets Bijou very upset. Maxwell comes to Hamtaro's defense, with an elaborate presentation showing that he (and Cappy as well) was innocent. Bijou, however, doesn't think that's the point. That's not what she's upset about. She heads off into a room to be alone. Hamtaro tries to get her to come out, but Boss tells him to leave her alone and let her cool off. Stan tries to romance Bijou, saying he'll take her to "Acorn Mountain." In the process, he spills the location and the ham-hams decide to head there. They try to convince Bijou to come, but she won't. They tell her the location anyway, in case she wants to come later. Maxwell says that girls are so complicated. At the woods where the acorns are, Boss yells "acorns away!" The ham-hams have a good time searching for various nut delights. Penelope starts shouting "ookwee" - she found chestnuts! She can't reach them however, so Stan comes and says he'll go get them. He heads to the top of the tree and shakes several off. He tries to have lunch with Pashmina, but it's no go. Maxwell, however, is able to get Sandy to have lunch with him. Meanwhile, Hamtaro is out gathering acorns. He wants to get a lot of acorns to make up to Bijou. He and Boss both see one and both go after it. Boss agrees to give the acorn to Hamtaro because it's not worth fighting over just one acorn. However, when Hamtaro starts shining it, Boss asks why and Hamtaro explains about Bijou. Boss makes him give it back. At the clubhouse, Bijou is still upset with Hamtaro. She voices her frustration out loud, causing Snoozer to come to Hamtaro's defense. She finally leaves her seclusion and comes out and finds a map to the place with the acorns. Snoozer says everyone's waiting for her. Back at the acorn forest, Hamtaro has gathered a huge amount of acorns. However, they're weighing him down and he ends up tumbling down a hill. The ham-hams all find him and he seems to be hurt. Bijou arrives at the park, where Pashmina informs her that Hamtaro's been hurt. She comes to see Hamtaro, who tells her that it's just a scratch. She examines his leg and says that she'll use her ribbon to wrap it. Hamtaro protests, since it's her favorite ribbon. She thinks that he got hurt because he was being silly playing. However, she's informed that Hamtaro was out gathering acorns for her. The ham-hams decide to give Hamtaro and Bijou some privacy, but not before they have to drag Boss and Stan away from once again trying to win Bijou's affection. Elsewhere in the park, Laura's class is on their field trip. Travis passes by Laura who has wrapped up a bag of acorns for Hamtaro, using one of her ribbons. He asked her what happened to the ribbons that she was wearing in the morning. Kana's surprised - Travis did notice the ribbons after all. The ham-hams all start heading home, singing a song called "Together on the Way Home." Bijou and Hamtaro soon join them, everything having been made up. Boss complains that Hamtaro got the girl and wonders where he went wrong. When Hamtaro arrives home that evening, he gives Brandy an acorn, which Brandy just sort of ignores. Laura gives Hamtaro the acorns and reflects on how Travis noticed her ribbons. She thinks tomorrow is going to be a great day and Hamtaro says he'll make Bijou smile again tomorrow.moreless
