It's early morning, before school and Hamtaro can't wait for Laura to leave. It's not that he doesn't like her, it's just that there are so many new ham-hams at the clubhouse nowadays and he can't wait to get there and play with everyone. Laura finally leaves and Hamtaro makes his escape. Outside, he runs into Boss and Oxnard. Oxnard is upset because he's lost his sunflower seed again. He's afraid he'll never find another sunflower seed again, but Hamtaro finds it. He was just sitting on it. Hamtaro and Boss head to the clubhouse and find some new hamsters waiting outside, along with their old friends. They meet Maxwell, an intellectual type, Panda, a craftsman who lives with a family of carpenters, Sandy, and Cappy, a hamster who's hiding under a saucepan. Boss invites them all into the clubhouse, where more introductions are made. Howdy sings a silly song. He recommends tidying up the place. At school, Mr. Yoshi hands Laura a test. She's shocked to see her score: 10%! Mr. Yoshi tells her to look again. She finds that her thumb was covering another zero. She got a 100%. She yells that she's a genius. Travis comments that it was an open book test and so about half the class probably got an A. Laura looks embarrassed. At the clubhouse, Panda builds a desk. He's complimented on his craftsmanship. Meanwhile, Oxnard and Howdy are fighting. Oxnard has a toy cement truck, but doesn't want to share it with Howdy. Howdy grabs onto it and tries to take it. The two tug back and forth until it gets broken. Dexter scolds Howdy and Howdy starts chasing after him. They chase after each other, wrecking Panda's desk, Pashmina's scarf and more! Boss has a flower and is fantasizing about Bijou. Howdy and Dexter chase around wreck his flower. It's complete pandemonium, until Boss yells out for them to stop. He kicks them all out of the clubhouse, saying that he can't take it anymore. Outside, the ham-hams wonder if this means that they're out of the clubhouse forever. They head off and Hamtaro says to himself that he doesn't want to lose his new friends. After school, Laura and Kana are out walking. Laura's gushing over her test score. She says that she thinks maybe her parents should get one of those "smart kid" stickers to put on the car. She's sure they'll be excited about her perfect score and decides to go tell them right away. She first heads to her Mom's workplace. She works in floral design. Laura tries to talk to her. But she's so busy with a client, that she tells Laura she'll have to talk to her later. And she calls Laura "Hamtaro." Laura's disappointed, but she's not going to give up. She heads to her Dad's workplace next. But her Dad is very busy too and doesn't have time to talk with her. Laura complains that she thought her parents would be excited about her test score. Hamtaro's still trying to figure out what to do about the clubhouse situation. At the clubhouse, Boss tries to rationalize kicking out the ham-hams. He says that he likes being by himself. He gets some advice from Snoozer, in the form of a couple of song titles. He decides to go find the ham-hams. He calls to them from a high tree branch, but ends up putting himself in danger. At Hamtaro's, Laura arrives with Kana. They think at first that Hamtaro's asleep, but then Hamtaro pops up of his house within his cage. Laura shows him her perfect test paper. He's not sure what it means, but he sees that Laura's happy, so he decides that he should act happy too. He runs on his wheel excitedly. He wonders if Laura might feed the paper to him later. Laura and Kana leave. Hamtaro decides to take action. He heads off and finds the other ham-hams. They agree to try to apologize to Boss. They start to head for the clubhouse, but then hear Boss cry for help. Hamtaro rushes up the tree to rescue him. The trig snaps and they both go falling. But fortunately, the ham-hams break their fall with a mat of leaves designed by Panda. Hamtaro says that they do well when they work together. They try to apologize to Boss, but Boss doesn't want them to get serious. He just wants them to head back to the clubhouse and have fun. At the clubhouse, everyone settles in again. Howdy and Dexter are still arguing, but at least they're not chasing each other around anymore. Maxwell decides that it's probably too much to ask for quiet out of them, but they do have "a certain charm." That night, Laura shows the test paper to her parents. They're sorry they were too busy to talk to her before, but they're pleased with her score. They grant her request to stay up that night an extra thirty minutes. Before she goes to bed, she writes in her journal. She says that Travis acted like her test score was no big deal, but he was just jealous. Hamtaro still wonders if Laura is going to give him the paper to eat.moreless
