It's morning and Laura is getting ready for the day. Her Mom comes in and reminds her to feed the fish. Laura gets dressed and asks Hamtaro what he thinks of her outfit. She thinks that Hamtaro seems a little restless this morning. She heads outside to meet Kana. It's summer vacation, but they're going over to the school to feed the fish. Hamtaro heads to the clubhouse, where he meets up with Oxnard in the tunnel. They talk about summer vacation - Oxnard's not really sure what it is. Hamtaro thinks that it's a lot of work - Laura has to talk on the phone and be outside with Kana, and so on, and so on. He thinks that she has to do all of that. As they head for the clubhouse, they run into the other ham-hams. Boss just kicked everyone out of the clubhouse! Hamtaro goes down to find out what's going on. It turns out that Boss is getting things rearranged - he's going to invite Bijou over and wants everything to look nice. The ham-hams aren't so sure. Bijou seems like a refined hamsters, so what if she disapproves of their lack of manners? They wonder if she will even come at all. Howdy teases Boss about being in love with her. Boss is set on getting Bijou to come anyway. At school, Laura ends up stumbling while trying to feed the fish. Travis comes up to help her out and gives her his towel. Laura's so flustered, she can't even talk straight. At Bijou's, Boss tries to talk to Bijou. But he can't bring himself to say even one word. Hamtaro complains about this being exactly what happened last time and decides to do the talking. They learn that Bijou has never really gone outside before. She just recently moved into town, all the way from France. Everyone wonders where that is. They try to convince her to come out, but she's too scared. What if Maria finds that she's missing? She asks them to come again, though. Boss turns to stone and calls himself a "schmoe." Back at school, Laura thanks Travis for giving her hope, or rather, help. At the clubhouse, Maxwell reveals that France is country, with green fields and good cheese. The ham-hams decide that they should try to invite Bijou again, but Boss thinks that she'll never fall for someone like him. They think that it would work if they could just improve their manners. Howdy wonders what manners are. Snoozer offers advice in the form of a song title: "I've Got You Under My Skin." Dexter thinks that maybe he could show Bijou some of his magic tricks. Or maybe not. Maxwell suggests that they all have a party to cheer up Boss. They just need to convince Bijou to come first. So they all head over to Bijou's. Most of them, anyway. Bijou tells them that she's never left her house before and hasn't thought about what's on the outside. She's still reluctant, but Hamtaro coaxes her out, telling her that he'll have her back home before Maria can ever notice that she's gone. They head to the clubhouse and Bijou has a good time along the way. At the clubhouse, Cappy is joyed to meet Bijou and Snoozer welcomes her as well. Boss, too, is really glad to see her. Bijou's looking a little dirty. Hamtaro thinks that it adds some distinction to her and her ribbons. Now, she's a real ham-ham. That night, Laura reflects on how strange it is when she tries to talk to Travis. She gave him back his towel, although he told her that she didn't have to wash it. She wonders what big adventure will come tomorrow.moreless
