It's morning and Laura is talking to her Mom. Her class is going on a field trip. Hamtaro is over on the stairway listening in. He thinks that maybe this is something he can come along on. Laura's Mom is talking about the trip, her class is going boating. Something about this reminds Laura's Dad about his first summer job. He goes on about having to walk five miles and stuff and Hamtaro notes that even he's heard this story. Laura's Dad thinks it's nice that Laura has a teacher who doesn't just teach in class, but also shows her the real world. Laura's worried that she might get seasick, but her Mom tells her that if she has any trouble, to just look at the horizon. Hamtaro heads to the clubhouse to see if he can find anytrhing out about this whole boating thing. When he gets there, it's just Oxnard, Boss, Bijou and Maxwell there. None of the other ham-hams were able to make it. As Hamtaro talks about the boat trip, Boss says that he's something of an expert on boating and has been on lots of boat trips. So Bijou decides to ask him for fashion advice instead of Hamtaro and Boss suggests going with her blue ribbon. Then, Hamtaro explains that he wants to go out on Laura's boat trip today and Boss starts coming up with delay tactics. He says that while you're out at sea, there could be unexpected storms. Bijou seems to think that's enough to keep them away, after all, Maria wouldn't want her out in a storm. Maxwell, however, says that he doesn't think there'll be any storms. He makes it a point to always watch the weather forecast and it said that today is supposed to be calm and clear. So, Boss, out of delay tactics, accompanies the ham-hams to the harbor, although he tries going really slow. When the ham-hams complain about this, he suddenly goes really fast and speeds way past them all. At the harbor, Boss says to himself that he's never been on a boat in his life. The ham-hams aren't going boating yet anyway. They're busy enjoying the harbor. Bijou thinks that the air does wonders for her complexion and Oxnard is busy snacking. However, one thing the ham-hams can't find is Laura's class, which they think may have already gotten on the boat. In actuality, Laura's class hasn't yet gotten on the boat. Instead, they've been on a tour and are busy having lunch. Travis is off by himself and Kana and Laura are debating whether they should offer their lunch to him. He isn't eating and they fear that he may have left his lunch at home. Just then, a bunch of other girls from the class head over and offer their food to him. He refuses it all. The ham-hams find the class and decide to follow them to the boat. They wonder where the boat is going and Maxwell says that boats often take long voyages to other countries. So now the ham-hams have an added concern, they have no idea where this boat could be going. And if they don't take it, they could be separated from their humans for a long time. As they head for the boat, Boss is still boasting about his amazing skills. But the boat takes off and the ham-hams aren't on board. In a desperate last-ditch attempt, they scurry along the rope leading to the boat that's tied to the dock. It's set loose and Boss, Hamtaro and Bijou are sent flying to the boat, but Maxwell and Oxnard get left at the docks. Boss yells after them to water his plants while they're gone. Onboard the boat, Hamtaro and Bijou start exploring. Bijou isn't too excited by the boat and says she understands now why she and Maria took a plane when they came from France. Boss, however, is in very bad shape. He's seasick and looks awful. Hamtaro and Bijou ask him if he wants something to eat, but Boss says not to talk about food. They decide to get him some water and take his cap to carry it in. They wonder, however, why Boss would be getting seasick if he's been out to sea so many times before. As they're heading off to get him some water, Travis is feeling sick as well. Laura and Kana notice this and decide to help him. While Kana heads off to get some medicine, Laura advises Travis to look at the horizon. This seems to make things worse at first, but then he seems to be a bit better. Hamtaro and Bijou find some water. Hamtaro is wearing Boss's cap on his ear. They use it to gather up some water. Kana finally arrives with some medicine for Travis, which helps him feel a lot better. Boss, meanwhile, is off by himself, moaning and having fantasies of Bijou. But when he awakes, he sees Auntie Viv and not Bijou. It turns out she's on the boat for a day trip. Bijou and Hamtaro finally arrive with Boss's water. They learn from Auntie Viv that the boat is just a ferry boat, going around the harbor. They're not going to another country. They're relieved, but annoyed with Maxwell. When they finally arrive back, Maxwell admits that he may have been reading about a different kind of boat. Then, Boss makes his big confession, that, like them, that was his first time on a boat. They're all mad and want him to apologize. Boss just falls over laughing and they all give him a very dirty look. That evening, Laura reflects on how good her Mom's advice was. She thinks it was a good day and tomorrow will be even better.moreless
