EDIT
Ham-Ham Clubhouse in Danger!
AIRED:
Laura's class is doing a project in which they're learning about their town's drainage system. They've been discussing it for a while and Mr. Yoshi is also having the class do models. Laura discusses the project with her Mom, who finds it very interesting. Laura's Mom wants to help Laura with the project, but then Laura's Mom learns the catch, Laura has saved the project for the last minute and it's due - tomorrow! Meanwhile, it looks like rain outside. Hamtaro sees this and decides he'd best make a quick dash for the clubhouse before it starts to pour. He heads out and meets up with Oxnard, who says that the air feels heavy and it's making his ears twitch. Oxnard has a little project idea of his own. He wants to make an umbrella out of sunflower shells. Hamtaro wants to know how many and Oxnard tells him that'll it just be one... or two... or three... actually, he doesn't know how many. A lot. They arrive at the clubhouse, where they find things in a frenzy. Hamtaro wonders what exactly is going on and the ham-hams inform him that they're redecorating for the rainy season. Everything is getting moved around, cleaned up and generally getting a new look. As the ham-hams are doing their project, there's something odd going on outside. There's a mole, wearing sunglasses, digging a tunnel. Unfortunately, the tunnel connects right into the clubhouse tunnels. It's a direct access - to the rain - which is starting to pour buckets. It quickly begins to flood the tunnels and build up against the clubhouse door. Inside the clubhouse, Snoozer is having a dream of mermaids and other things under the sea. Then, Bijou tries to exit the clubhouse, only to find that the door is completely stuck. She tries giving it a good kick, but all of her efforts to open it fail. The ham-hams figure they're locked in. At Laura's school, Mr. Yoshi is giving a lesson about the town's drainage system and how everyones' homes would flood without it. He reminds them of their projects, saying that he figures they're ahead of schedules, since they know his feelings about late assignments. Laura winces at this. Back at the clubhouse, the ham-hams are becoming aware of what's really happening, particularly so when water starts to seep underneath the clubhouse door. Panda tries to board up the door, with Penelope cheering on, but there isn't enough wood in the clubhouse. It's not enough to hold it back. The ham-hams all begin to panic, worried about what's going to happen to them and to their possessions inside the clubhouse. Hamtaro says that they all just have to think, while Oxnard notes that hamsters can't swim. The ham-hams head for high ground and also take advice from Snoozer, deciding to try to dig their way out of the clubhouse. They begin their quest, only to find that their path is blocked by a giant tree root, which Boss doesn't remember being around before. Oxnard begins talking about food, leading Maxwell to suggest that he may be hallucinating. He notes that it's not unusual to hallucinate in times of stres. Then, Penelope starts shouting out, leading Hamtaro to think that she might have a plan. Howdy snippily warns agains the practicality of following the plan of someone who can only say one word, which only causes Hamtaro to become angry with him. Oxnard plays peacemaker and the ham-hams realize what she's getting it. She's small enough to fit through the hole between the root and the tunnel and head off to get help. The ham-hams send her on her way, with Boss worried for her safety. It also isn't particularly encouraging that at first, Penelope heads the wrong way. Still, Penelope reaches Laura's house and enlists the help of Brandy. Laura is just arriving home and can't believe that she has to walk Brandy. She has a project to do and she's running out of time. Still, she takes him out for his walk. Once outside, Laura loses control and Brandy takes off. Penelope leads him on, directing him to the spot where he needs to dig. In the clubhouse, the ham-hams are feeling sorry for themselves, when finally they decide to band together and try to do something. After all, there's no guarantee that Penelope will come back and it's better than just sitting around. They start working on an alternate path and soon hear a noise. They realize that it's Brandy digging and start making their own noise so he knows he's digging in the right spot. They get out and are saved. Brandy then runs off to find Laura and starts heading towards home. As he does, the clouds begin to clear and the sun comes out. It looks like the ham-hams will be able to put things back as they once were. The ham-hams put the clubhouse back together, even better than before with their remodeling. Maxwell can't believe it, but Snoozer slept through the whole thing. That evening, Laura reflects on the day, noting that she was able to get her project done. She says that Kana told her that she saw something odd, a mole wearing sunglasses. Imagine! She thinks that despite some of the things that happened, it was pretty fun day.moreless
