When Boss removes his alien mask, he doesn't remove his hat first. When the mask comes off, the hat stays on his head.
Laura: Today was a lot of fun, wasn't it? And I'll betcha tomorrow will be even better, don't you think, Hamtaro?
Hamtaro: Heke.
Roberto: I think Samba likes treats more than he likes tricks.
Auntie Viv: They might as well surrender. Nothing can catch me.
Kana: Poor little puppy.
Laura: We didn't mean to scare Samba!
Boss: I think we know who our Halloween Phantom is!
Hamtaro: Sure do! It's a snowboarding Granny with attitude!
Pashmina: Don't worry, Penelope. We'll recognize our friends even if it is dark and they are wearing costumes.
Boss: Don't panic, ham-hams, just back away slowly.
Elder Ham: (as Wolf-Ham) Trick-or-treat, nice and sweet, you look good enough to eat.
Auntie Viv: (as Halloween Phantom) Welcome to the ultimate Halloween party. Make yourselves at home and let the games begin.
Howdy: Hey, pumpkin-head, ever gone to the dentist? You're missin' some of your chompers.
Dexter: Hey, be nice to the pumpkins or they might get mad at us.
Boss: We should find a new planet to have fun on.
Elder Ham: I remember when you won the first prize at a costume party for having the very best costume.
Howdy: What'd you do? Wrap yourself in bread and call yourself a "ham" sandwich.
Oxnard: I could never dress as food. I'd eat my costume.
Howdy: The great Howdy will explain.
Dexter: Don't tell us you know what it means.
Howdy: I sure do. Halloween's a kinda hot dog that I don't relish.
Ham-Hams: Huh? What does Halloween have to do with hot dogs?
Howdy: See, listen here. Halloween is a hollow weiner. Hee hee hee. Get it? Little dog in a bun, that ain't no fun. A hollow weiner. I crack myself up. Hee hee hee. It's barbeque gone bust. Now there's a joke you can't sink your teeth into! Get it? Can't sink your...
Dexter: Your head is hollow. Your word tricks are not a treat.
Boss: Time out, you guys. What is this Halloween nonsense all about, anyway?
Hamtaro: Thanks for the landing pad, Brandy.
Kana: You know, Laura, I bet our class will have at least ten ghosts.
For Halloween the ham hams wore different costumes.
Hamtaro: Frankenham (Frankenstein)
Bijou and Pashmina: Ham witches (Witch)
Penelope: Ghost
Cappy: Pumpkin Ham
Boss: Alien Ham
Oxnard: Spider Ham
Panda: Skeleton Ham
Howdy: Sir Laughs-alot (Knight)
Dexter: Pirate Ham
This episode corresponds to Japanese episode #173. (Fourth season, if measuring seasons by batches of 52 episodes.)
This special lasted only a half hour, unlike the Birthday Special
Based on a very recent Japanese script, much more recent than any of the second-season episodes.
First time that Cartoon Network has ever used the new second season opening sequence without first showing the first season one. The closing sequence was normal-style second-season closing sequence, rather than the scrolling credits used in the birthday special.
This special aired in primetime at 8 P.M. eastern on Cartoon Network. It also repeated on Thursday, October 30th at 8:30 P.M. on Cartoon Network. First broadcast on Canada's YTV: Saturday, October 25th at 2 P.M. eastern and pacific.
This special will be part of a month-long set of Halloween programming on Cartoon Network called "Shocktober."
A book apparently based on this special was released in September.
ShoPro USA released details about this special in a press release which you can check out here. Note the restaurant sponsorship with Burger King, the first ever Hamtaro restaurant sponsorship in the United States.
