It's morning and Laura is searching for her favorite pencil case. It has a lot of cool stuff in it, but it's simply disappeared. Her Mom comes up, warning that she's going to be late for school. Laura explains about the pencil case and her Mom suggests that if she would clean her room, she might be able to find her stuff, since it's a mess. Laura says she'll do it that afternoon and heads off to school. Hamtaro gets out of his cage and decides that he'll find Laura's pencil case. He starts sniffing around ends up finding an old treat which he places in his cage. He still hasn't found the pencil case, but decides he has all day to search for it. He heads off for the clubhouse. He finds some of the ham-hams outside the clubhouse. It seems that Bijou has lost her jewelry box. It contains some of her favorite ribbons, among other important things. Howdy makes some comments about calculations he's made of the things she's lost, which get on the nerves of the other ham-hams. Boss just wants them to search and not talk so much. They're called inside the clubhouse by Panda, where they learn that Maxwell's books are gone, as well as Panda's carpentry tools. Hamtaro's really upset now. He wants to know what's going on. He starts trying to do some interviews, but Boss says that "he'll do the interviews around here." Stan comes in and at first is sort of cavalier about the thief. Then, he learns that his favorite maracas are gone and he's all for the search. At Laura's school, Laura finds out that she's not the only one who's had things gone missing. At the clubhouse, suspicion begins to fall on Hamtaro, who is the only who apparently doesn't have anything missing. Hamtaro claims his innocence and Boss gets irritated with the ham-hams, saying that Hamtaro, or any ham-ham for that matter, wouldn't do something like this. The ham-hams think that maybe since Snoozer had to be around when the thief took things that perhaps he heard something. But Snoozer tells them that he couldn't have heard anything because he's always sleeping. Stan suggests that perhaps the criminal will return to the scene of the crime. At school, Laura and Kana learn that Travis has also lost something. The ham-hams continue their search, Hamtaro calling himself a "supersleuth." At the clubhouse, Boss finds most of the missing items hidden under his mattress. He looks on and says that it's going to be hard to explain. Hamtaro starts digging in his yard. He ends up digging something up, but it turns out it's just one of Brandy's toys. He apologizes to Brandy. Then, Oxnard calls him back into the clubhouse. Boss shows them the stuff he found and the ham-hams think that they can close the case. Stan, however, isn't satisfied. He still wants to find the perpetrator of the crimes. In fact, he's suspicious of Boss and his suspicion soon spreads to the other ham-hams. Boss stomps off, saying that he knows when he's being unfairly accused. The ham-hams realize they've made a mistake. Maxwell says there's no way boss stole anything and Hamtaro says that since Boss stuck up for him, he'll have to stick up for Boss. They're back on the case and get a disturbing report from Snoozer, who says that his pillow has been stolen and without it, he can't sleep. Howdy retorts that Snoozer still is sleeping, but Snoozer doesn't answer him because, well, he's sleeping. The ham-hams end up chasing a "monster" throughout the tunnels connecting to the clubhouse, however, they can only see its shadow. They eventually lose track of it and it starts heading in Boss's direction. Hamtaro says that if anyone can take on the monster, it's Boss. Boss ends up coming face to face with the monster. It's... Penelope?! At Laura's school, Travis is up in a tree. He's found that it was a crow that took all of the stuff of the kids at school. He retrieves the stuff and returns it to its rightful owners. Laura ends up catching a test paper which belongs to Travis. Travis quickly snatches it away from her, saying that he'd let her use it as a study guide, but his marks might make her jealous. However, Laura has it long enough for him to see his score - 48%! Back at the clubhouse, Boss asks Penelope if she realizes how much trouble she's caused. But Penelope doesn't really understand. Pashmina explains - Penelope doesn't understand why they're upset with her. Maxwell further details that Penelope was simply imitating their behavior. She'd seen them all putting their stuff away and decided to copycat it. Hamtaro says that he knew it was Penelope all along. When Hamtaro arrives home, he wonders what happened to the treat he put in his cage that morning. After searching around some, he hears Laura talking about how she cleaned up her room. She says that she also cleaned out Hamtaro's cage - she didn't know he was such a packrat! Hamtaro's upset at her for tossing out the treat, but then she gives him a brand new fresh one and all is well again.moreless
