Laura and Kana are out shopping for their parents. Laura, however, is talking about what she wants. The thing is, there's this nice new dollhouse in a shop window that she's admiring, but her Mom already got her this nice new coat for Christmas. It was so expensive that she figures her parents wouldn't have any money for the dollhouse. Kana tells her to ask Santa. She said last year she wrote a present that she wanted on a list to Santa. Santa never even got the list, yet somehow he knew he exactly what she wanted! She flashes back to she morning she excitedly opened that gift from Santa. She tells Laura they can go to her house and write their lists together. Laura's worried about the shopping, but Kana says they have plenty of time to finish that later. At the clubhouse, the ham-hams are just finishing decorating a tree for Christmas. They're dressed up too: Stan is decked out as a Santa with his maracas and Cappy has a Santa cap on. Hamtaro thinks it looks so magical. The ham-hams are all admiring it, but then Boss cuts in: he wants to know what the purpose of it is! Howdy gets all wild, saying that he doesn't understand why he always has to explain everything. He passes the question off to Oxnard, but Oxnard doesn't know the answer any better than Howdy. He thinks it's just fun to decorate. Howdy complains that he's starting to think that none of the ham-hams know what Christmas trees are for. For all they know, they're for putting gifts under on Christmas morning. He's informed that that's exactly what they're for and says that he was just kidding them. Bijou asks if anyone else has heard of Santa Claus. Maxwell explains that his research tells about Santa Claus, that he delivers gifts to those who have been good on Christmas morning. Hamtaro says that he's been good and so he'll get a gift. Cappy starts running around saying that he wants a new cap and everyone else gets excited about Santa Claus. All except Boss, who just sort of leaves the clubhouse. Hamtaro and the other ham-hams find him sitting unhappily at the end of a riverbank. He says that Santa doesn't come to field hamsters. Maxwell tells him that Christmas is about more than just Santa Claus. It says so in his book. They suggest that maybe Boss was just naughty last year, but he's been a lot nicer this year. So he's sure to get a present! Boss starts thinking that maybe he could be nice. That evening at dinner, Laura tries to ask her parents about the dollhouse. But when she starts to speak, her Dad interrupts, thinking that she's asking about what to get for him. He says that he'd like something she made herself, after all, it's the thought that counts. Laura sighs. The next day, the ham-hams arrive at the clubhouse to find Boss reading from a manners book. He reads something about holding the door open and when the ham-hams try to talk to him, he asks for some peace for his reading. Hamtaro does a kushi kushi and Boss asks him to stop: he just cleaned the clubhouse! He says that from now on, he's going to be a clean and mannered hamster. He leaves the clubhouse, saying that he wants some examples of how other people be nice. The ham-hams are confused at first, but then realize that it was the Santa story that got this started. Howdy says that if Boss doesn't get a gift, they're going to be in for a nasty New Year. But what to do? Elder Ham is shown wandering about at a mall. He sees a mall Santa Claus and commetns that his beard is much softer than the Santa's. He then notices a purple marble lying around and seems intersted in it. The ham-hams arrive at the same mall. They're searching for Santa, hoping to tell him about Boss. They see a girl dressed in white and red, but decide she can't be Santa, since Santa is male. They finally see the mall Santa that Elder Ham saw earlier. They all make a wish together for Santa to come to Boss. But the mall Santa doesn't seem to hear him. Then, to the shock of the ham-hams, the mall Santa takes off his cap and beard. They don't understand how it could be. Oxnard suggests that they stop for lunch before they keep searching. That evening, Christmas Eve, Laura comments that Dad'll be so impressed when he finds out she made the Christmas dessert. As she heads downstairs, Hamtaro sneaks out again. He's got to get the clubhouse because there isn't much time left to do something about the situation with Boss. At the clubhouse, Dexter complains that he saw lots of red hats, but no Santa. The ham-hams decide on a backup plan: they'll each bring a gift for Boss. Then, they realize that Snoozer is a field hamster too and so they'd best bring him a gift too. Oxnard says that he hopes he can remember and Snoozer says that he hopes so too. Boss comes up and says that he's leaving milk and cookies for Santa. He goes to bed early, saying that he can't wait for tomorrow. Scenes are shown of the ham-hams with their owners and various Christmas festivities as a Christmas song with lyrics such as "There's a magic in the air / That only comes at Christmas." As the song ends, Laura is sitting by her window. It's snowing and a snowflake falls and lands on Hamtaro's nose. Laura says that Hamtaro since Hamtaro caught the snowflake, he can make a wish. Hamtaro wishes for Boss and Snoozer to both get gifts from Santa. He says that he doesn't need anything, but they do. The next morning, Laura wakes up excitedly. She got her dollhouse! She looks over to Hamtaro - what's that? Did he get something too? He looks, it's a new whiz wheel! As Laura heads downstairs to celebrate, Hamtaro sneaks out. He wishes a Merry Christmas to Brandy and then meets the ham-hams by the clubhouse. He's the last one to arrive. They've all been waiting outside, too afraid to go in. Then, they here shouting from inside the clubhouse. They hurry in and find that Boss got a gift! And so did Snoozer! Boss shows them - it's a nice new blanket. He then shows off his gift --- it's the purple marble that Elder Ham found earlier! Hamtaro wonders what it's for and Boss says he doesn't know, but he's going to take care of it his whole life. The scene changes and Elder Ham is shown walking, shouting "Ho ho!" and "Merry Christmas!" That evening, Laura reflects about the day's events. Kana got a new computer for her birthday and a game from Santa! And Santa was so great, she never even sent her list, but he knew exactly what he wanted. Hamtaro is busy running in his new wheel. He says he's going to work off the Christmas treats.moreless
