Laura: We sure had a lotta fun today, didn't we? And tomorrow's going to be even better, don't you think? Hamtaro: Heke. Laura: Night, Hamtaro. Hamtaro: I think you mean "King Hamtaro." (giggles)
Stan: I've got tons of ideas for the birthday band. We're gonna get lots of drums and stuff so we can be totally loud.
Boy Ham-Hams: Ah! We want dolls too!
Bijou: China dolls can't talk. Their mouths are painted on! Hamtaro: Like Auntie Viv's?
Laura: Boy. What's gotten into Hamtaro?
Dexter: (regarding dolls) I can get them to talk. I'm very persuasive, you know.
Elder Ham: Nothing like a nap under the cherry blossoms.
Hamtaro: (regarding Mimi) She's too young to know that hamsters aren't supposed to be running loose.
Hamtaro: Who's gonna make the greatest king? I will.
Hamtaro: The clock's a'ticking, ham-hams.
Hamtaro: Let's give Mimi a birthday party she'll never forget.
Howdy: I don't need to rehearse. I'm an actor-joker. Take my wife, please!
The "Friends" Song is also used in the 1997 New Year's episode of EastEnders.

The original Japanese version of this episode, "Yahoo! It's Girl's Day" was about Mimi being upset because she didn't have a Girl's Day display because of her Mom having the baby. The english dub shown on Cartoon Network, "Midnight Celebration," changes the plot to Mimi being upset about her parents ignoring her birthday. Interestingly, the page for this episode at the official U.S. Hamtaro site still talks about Girl's Day. You can learn more about Girl's Day (hinamatsuri) here.
The song "You've Got Friends" sung in this episode is used again in a couple of second season episodes. You can view fairly decent lyrics for the song at this page.
All of the members of the main ham-ham gang are a part of Mimi's birthday celebration, even Snoozer.
Mimi's baby sister's name is revealed to be Tina in the second season episode "Mimi's Dream Park!"
Stan: It's gonna be a group effort baby, so don't step on my pink suede shoes! While planning the party for Mimi, Stan does a clever impression of Elvis Presley. However, he substitues 'pink' for 'blue' because of his pink hamster feet. And the "Friends" song is used in the 1997 New Years episode of "EastEnders"
