The screen flicker during the position the commercial break used to be that Cartoon Network seemed to have fixed is back once again.
Laura: Today was a magnificent day. I bet tomorrow's gonna be even better. Don't ya' think?
Hamtaro: Heke.
Hamtaro: (thinking) I learned a lot today; there's milk in the sky and stars are bugs there's a lady named Venus who's really bright and lives in the air!
Howdy: So Snoozer is wishin' for more sleep. Maybe he should get a cat, so he can have a catnap.
Snoozer: I wouldn't mind getting more sleep.
Hamtaro: That was Roberto. Poor guy. I wonder why he can't do anything right around Laura.
Roberto: You're a good boy, Brandy.
Laura: Huh? Let's go home, Brandy.
Roberto: (sarcastic) Hey, can you yell a little louder?
Laura: We're studying the planets and stars in school, Hamtaro. This is a star.
Hamtaro: It looks like my sheriff's badge.
Laura: (regarding Roberto) He plays up all goody-goody to adults, but at school he's really mean.
Hamtaro: A big dipper and the Milky Way? Where? You can dip a cookie in milk.
Laura: (regarding Roberto) Imagine growing up and marrying him! Now I'm gonna have nightmares!
Hamtaro: Let them go to the stars if they want.
Boss: What? Laura's gonna jump in some milk with a lady named Venus and make a wish?
Laura: (voiceover) It was so beautiful that night, I forgot to wish about anything.
Laura: Roberto didn't mean to soak Travis. I shouldn't have called him a jerk.
Kana: Did you know that if you wish on a star at the exact same time as someone else does, they fall in love with you?
Laura: Sorry, Roberto. I shouldn't have called you a jerk.
Roberto: Whatever. Doesn't really matter.
Boss: Why doesn't the milk fall on the heads?
Howdy: Because it's skim milk, that's why. It's light!
Hamtaro: Who are the Romans? Do they drink the Milky Way?
Stan: I want muscles.
Maxwell: Oh brother.
Howdy: I wish for a great big whoppin' audience that would laugh at my jokes every day.
Repeated on Cartoon Network on Saturday, August 21 as part of their "Saturday Block Party," following "Ham-Ham Games." Repeat episodes aired during this block featured close-captioning, a first for Hamtaro on Cartoon Network.
The gold charms on the Ham-Ham's tree are identical to the one worn by Meowth on Pokemon.
In addition to Rollerblades and Straight A's, Laura also put a wish on the tree saying: "some player to have a crush on me."
This was actually the first episode of the third season in Japan. It was most likely added to the American second season lineup, due to the removal of another episode which likely proved untranslatable because it had to do with Panda, an ogre and some sort of Japanese bean-throwing practice.
The plant in this episode which Laura had papers hanging off of saying things like "Rollerskates" and "Straight A's" is associated with the Japanese Star Festival, which was explored in more detail in "Pepper's Visit," but not mentioned by name.
When Hamtaro refers to his sheriff's badge in this episode, he's referring to when he was a sheriff in the previous episode, "The Tale of Princess Bijou."
If Cartoon Network schedule listings are to be believed, this is the last episode of the season, even thought their own advertising promised "52 new episodes."
This episode was originally scheduled for June 18th, but pushed back one week due to a mini-marathon of other Cartoon Network programming. At the time, it oddly appeared in Cartoon Network listings as "Episode #105." (Which at the time didn't make sense, but it turns out that this actually is episode 105 in the Japanese version of the show.)
