Kana's country cousin, Dylan is coming for a visit and he's bringing his hamster, Penelope, with him. Oxnard is still madly in love with Pepper and can't wait for her to come. Meanwhile, all of the ham-hams are planning a surprise party to welcome Pepper. Kana and Laura have some fun of their own planned: they're going to give Dylan a tour of the city. While Kana and Laura take Dylan on his tour, Pepper, Oxnard and Hamtaro head for the ham-ham clubhouse. Oxnard and Hamtaro explain to Pepper that there's all sorts of hamsters in the city and they can't wait for her to meet them. As they head to the clubhouse, Kana and Laura are taking Dylan for a walk through the park. He quips that they must be breaking him in by letting him breathe some fresh air before taking him downtown. Hamtaro, Oxnard and Pepper reach the clubhouse, where Boss and Snoozer are the only ones there. Pepper wants to know where everyone is and Snoozer mumbles something about a secret party. Fortunately, Pepper doesn't hear him. Boss covers, by saying that Snoozer sometimes says funny things in his sleep. It was probably just gibberish. The ham-hams take Pepper on a tour of the city, but they have trouble keeping up with her. It's almost as if she seems to know the city better than they do. She catches wind of a scent and follows it to a mall, where there's a petting zoo. Oxnard, Boss and Hamtaro chase after her and end up riding on a mule, which gets loose. The Dylan/Kana/Laura plot connects at this point as they come to the mall and see the animals from the petting zoo on the loose. Fortunately, Dylan's country ways prove useful, as he manages to "rustle up" the wild animals and get them back to where they belong. Fortunately for the ham-hams, they're not spotted. Pepper wants to keep going and have some more fun, but Boss, Oxnard and Hamtaro insist that they follow her. They take her to the other ham-hams, who have been planning a giant surprise party the whole time. They all introduce themselves and make her an honorary member of the ham-ham gang. Then, they all watch a brilliant sunset together. Dylan, Laura and Kana watch it too. That evening, as Laura reflects on the day's events, she comments about how lucky she is. Hamtaro figures he must be the lucky one, seeing as how he always manages to get home before Laura can find him missing.moreless
