    • TRIVIA (1)

      • Having been involved in a car crash a week before recording this show, Hancock couldn't learn his lines very well and had to use cue cards. This meant that he read his lines while talking to other actors. June Withfield later claimed that it was an odd sensation to act with someone who was looking just behind you. After this successful recording Hancock never learnt his lines again.

    • QUOTES (5)

      • Nurse: Have you ever given blood?

        Hancock: Given, no. Spilled, yes.

      • Hancock: Doctor McTavish? He's a Scotsman? Oh, that's fine. They're all good doctors, Scotsmen. Like engineers, you know. It's the porridge that does it.

      • Hancock: How much do you want?

Doctor McTavish: A pint, of course.

Hancock: A pint? Have you gone raving mad? You must be joking.

Doctor McTavish: A pint is a perfectly normal quantity to take.

Hancock: You don't seriously expect me to believe that. I came here in all good faith to help my country. I don't mind giving a reasonable amount, but a pint? That's very nearly an armful!

      • Doctor McTavish: You're rhesus positive.
Hancock: Rhesus? They're monkeys, aren't they? How dare you!

      • Hancock: I didn't come here to be insulted by a legalised vampire!
