Hands of Murder

Show Summary

This live anthology series on the Dumont network made the most out of a low budget. Using a minimum of sets, stories were told using lighting and camera angles to give the impression of cutting between different locations. Since the actors and crew weren't physically moving from set to set, the scripts were written to allow a rapid change of scenes and give a quicker pace to the action. The stories were generally of a suspense nature, occasionally veering into the supernatural. The first "pilot" episode aired on the series Program Playhouse before becoming a regular Friday night series on 9/30/1949. During the course of its run, the title changed to Hands of Destiny and finally Hands of Mystery.
