School dance. Jake asks Miley who refuses. Why? And then he goes with Lilly, but he really likes Miley. Jackson and Robbie pull pranks on each other.

The subplot was way more fun and better than the main plot. I like plots like that so the subplot was great. Main one was OK, kind of bland and not really funny, it was.... just there really. But the subplot more than makes up for that. If I graded the main plot and sub plot differently, it would be MP- D+/C-, SP- B+/A-, that is how much I enjoyed the sub plotmoreless
  • ok episode...

I like bits of this episode, and hate other bits. I really did not like the story with Jake and Miley. Miley turned Jake down for the dance, but then Hannah heard that Jake really liked Miley so Miley changed her mind. However, Lilly is now going to the dance with him. I really thought this story was unoriginal. I have seen it done so many times: a guy gets between friends and yadda yadda. The part in this episode I really liked was between Jackson and Robbie. It was funny seeing them play pranks on each other. Overall, ok episode.moreless
  • Miley just might be falling for Jake when he tells Hannah he likes a girl named Miley. Jackson meanwhiles tries to prove to his dad he can do practical jokes.

    "Good"
I'm a big fan of Hannah Montana, but it's still not living up to its potential with goofy episodes like this one. Once again, the Jackson-Robby plot proves more fun to watch as Miley starts inexplicably falling for Jake despite his ego and limited intelligence. She really has to dig deep to find the decent guy he claims to be. What makes this episode interesting to me is the look of Jake's so-called "hit" series and his hammy acting. It looks like a syndicated kids show, not to mention an obvious rip-off of "Buffy The Vampire Slayer" confusing zombies with vampires and mucking up paranormal reality along the way. Sort of makes you wonder how Jake became a "big star" with this sort of tripe. He's obviously coasting on his looks.moreless

This episode has many funny times, and serious times, and just plain stupid times. But htat is always what I liek in shwos, a miztrure. Something that will keep you on the edge of your seat because you want to know what is going to happen. I found ti funny when Hannah's like "Miley what a unique name" when really infact shes Miley but Jake didn't know that then. He finds out later, but it adds more drama, and I like drama. I request for everyone to take a look at this episode because it is a good example and one that atleast, leaved me on the edge of my seat...moreless

    • They used the same set twice. First, they used it as a restroom at the begining. Second, they used it as a scene for Zombie High.

    • Goof: After Miley and Lilly pull Jake from each side,(Right when they slip and fall towards the tables on each respective side) the camera pans in on Jake looking in shock as Lilly falls. In the background, you can see that Miley is already falling against the table and the distance is quite short. But when the camera pans in on Miley's actual fall a couple seconds later, she has yet to reach the table and it looks like she traveled quite a considerable distance from where she was pulling.

    • When Jake Ryan talks to Hannah Montana about Miley she comments that Miley is a weird name. She also does this this in the episode "Lilly, Do You Want to Know a Secret" when Lilly, trespassing in Hannah Montana's dressing room, wishes out loud that Miley could be there.

    • Demon dog is Jake Ryan's sidekick on "Zombie High".

    • The episode of "Zombie High" that Hannah filmed is called "Forbidden Love".

    • Lilly: I missed his muscles! His gleaming, zombie-slaying muscles! Miley: Lilly, build a bridge and get over it!

    • Miley: (groaning) ARGGGGHH!(looks at Lilly) AAAAARGGGGGGGGGHHH!! Lilly: What are you doing? Miley: I'm trying to tell you something. Lilly: What, that your pants are on too tight?

    • Lilly: (About Jake) I don't know what they see in him. Miley: Me either. Lilly: It's a good thing we're over him, right? Miley: Oh, yeah.

    • Lilly: Look at the title! It says "Forbidden Love". I wonder if that's you? Miley: It better not be!

    • (Robbie spills a milk shake all over himself) Jackson: What's wrong dad, you look a little down. Robbie: Good job son, now, let me give you a hug. Jackson: No, you stay away from me sticky man! Robbie: Come on, let me give you a little low-fat raspberry love!

    • Jake: Wow, Hannah, it looked like you really wanted to kiss me. Hannah: Yeah, well, it's called acting.

    • Jake: Hey Miley, you wanna go to the 70's dance with me? Fan Girls: Gasp! Miley: Yes Fan Girls: Awwww... Miley: I mean, no! Fan Girls: Yay! Jake: No? Miley: Yes I mean no! Fan Girls: Huh? Miley: Now ya cheer. Fan Girls: Yay! (Miley and Lilly start walking away) Lilly: No? Miley: Yes! Lilly: Yes? Miley: No! Now stop that!

    • Lilly: (Jumping up and down) I'm going to the dance with Jake! I'm going to the dance with Jake! Why aren't you happy dancing? Why aren't you happy dancing? Miley: Because I like Jake. Lilly: Since when? Miley: Since he saved me from going to the portal to the underworld. Those things make you realize what's important in life.

    • Miley: Look at him! It's DIS-GUST-ING! Lilly: Oh, c'mon! If he asked you to the dance are you telling me that you wouldn't say yes? Miley: Yes... Lilly: Yes you'd say no, or yes you'd say yes? Miley: No, yes I'd say no! Lilly: What?

    • Lilly: Who knew photosynthesis had nothing to do with photography?

    • Lilly: But ever since he got here all I've heard from you is "Oh, he's so stuck up" and "Oh, who does he think he is." Miley: Yeah, well, I changed my mind. Lilly: Yeah, right after he asked me. Miley: No, actually, last night, which you would have known if you had your cell phone. Photosynthesis. I mean, come on! Lilly: How is this my fault? Miley: It's not. Just tell Jake that you can't go to the dance and everything will be fine. Lilly: But... I don't want to tell him that. Miley: But he likes me. He only asked you because I said no. Lilly: So, what are you saying, that I'm the canned fruit cup you get when they're all out of the chocolate pudding? Miley: What? Lilly: You know what I mean. Well, I've got news for you. The Jake ship has sailed. (Turns around and comes back) And you're not on it. (Turns around again and comes back) I'm in a first class cabin. Miley: Just leave mad already! Lilly: Happily! (They both leave in the wrong direction, then head in the right direction) Miley: My house is this way! Lilly: My house is that way!

    • Jake: Man, this is not my week. I mean, first this girl I like won't go to the school dance with me, and now, my zombie princess won't kiss me. Hannah: Yeah, well, I just don't think that the zombie princess would-- Who's this girl at school? Jake: Her name's Miley. Hannah: Wow, what an interesting name. I've never heard anything like it. She must be really unique. Jake: She is. She's cute and funny and smart. She's so down to earth. When I talk to her, it doesn't feel like she's talking to Jake Ryan the celebrity, but she's talking to Jake Ryan the person. You know what I mean? Hannah: Yeah, I do. Sometimes you need to know that people like you for who you are and not just because you're a star. Jake: Exactly! And she doesn't like me as a star or a person. Isn't that great? Hannah: Uh, is this a trick question?

    • Jake: (To Miley) Listen, about the dance, you, uh, seemed really nervous when I asked you. Which is to be expected, 'cause, you know, look at me. Lilly: I do, all the time. Even when you don't know I am. Did I say that out loud? Miley: Yes.

    • Miley: Lilly, look what I got! Lilly: Not now. Jake's about to change. Miley: Into what, a decent human being?

    • Lilly: Hey, do you have any scenes with Jake Ryan? Miley: I don't know, I haven't got the script yet, but I don't care. I get enough of that ego-maniac at school. Lilly: Oh, come on. You so like Jake. Miley: No, I don't. How can you say that? Lilly: Because every time his name comes up, you act like you can't stand him. Miley: That's not acting. Lilly: Or is it? Miley: No!

    • Miley: Guess what famous popstar is Zoranda, Princess of the Undead, on Zombie High? Lilly: (Gasps) Paula Abdul?! Miley: No. Hannah Montana. Lilly: That is so cool! But wait, you don't know how to act. Miley: What are you talking about? I act everyday; I act like I'm not Hannah Montana, I act like Oliver's jokes are funny. Yesterday, I acted like I liked that sweater that you wore. Lilly: What? Miley: Just kidding, I loved it. See, I was acting... or was I?

    • Lilly: What are you doing? You're supposed to be at a seventies dance, not turning letters on a game show. This line is an allusion to the popular game show Wheel of Forture, in which the TV personality Vanna White operates the show's puzzle board, which usually involves turning letters.

    • Oliver: That was the Miami Funk Corporation with The Groove is Gonna to Get You. The Miami Sound Machine was Gloria Estefan's music group that sung Rhythm is Gonna Get You.

    • Jackson: (To Robbie) Boo-yah! This is a reference to Khary Payton's role of Cyborg on the animated show, Teen Titans. Cyborg's catchphrase, "Boo-yah," was often said in various episodes. In this episode, Khary Payton plays Roger the Director. The phrase is also a reference to Disney's Kim Possible, where Ron Stoppable said "Boo-yah!" countless times.

    • Paula Abdul was a popular singer in the late 80's. Her most famous song is "Straight Up". Now days, she is best known for her role as a judge on "American Idol".

    • Jake Ryan: So who wants to do the Hustle with Jake Ryan? The Hustle was a popular dance in the 70s.

    • More Than a Zombie To Me is a play on the title of the Bee Gee's song More Than a Woman (To Me).
