Hannay

Show Summary

Originally created by the British author John Buchan in the novel 'The Thirty Nine Steps' (first published in 1915), Richard Hannay is a man of his times- an Edwardian gentleman and adventurer, a mining engineer from South Africa of Scottish origin, who lives by his own standards and wits, upholding a moral code which is distinctly his own. An outsider, he is at once a rugged gentleman and a knight errant with the fairer sex. Portrayed on film by Robert Donat and Kenneth More, he is brought vividly to life on the small screen by Robert Powell who had earlier portrayed him in the 1978 film of 'The Thirty Nine Steps'.

'Hannay', starring Robert Powell, is now available for preorder on DVD from Amazon UK and will be released on 13th February, 2006.

This is welcome news for the program's many fans. Although it has been some time since 'Hannay' was first made, it has stood the test of time and is still very popular. The television series, which stars Robert Powell, was a follow on from the 1977 movie also starring Robert Powell.moreless
