Happening '68 was a rock music series on the ABC network. It aired Saturday afternoons following American Bandstand.
Happening '68 was produced by Dick Clark Productions. Mark Lindsay and Paul Revere (both of Paul Revere and the Raiders) co-hosted the series.
Happening '68 premiered on January 6, 1968. It featured guest performers (usually) lip-synching their latest hits. Series regulars Paul Revere and the Raiders often performed. One feature of the series was a band contest complete with celebrity judges. This series also featured interviews and other topics of interest to teenagers.
Happening '68 was so popular that ABC added a spin-off to its weekday schedule. The spin-off, titled It's Happening, aired Mondays through Fridays from 15-Jul-68 through 25-Oct-68.moreless
