I was very young when this show was on the air originally but somehow it resonated with me even at the ripe old age of 7 and 8 years old. One of the standout appearances for me from Happening 68 was Merrilee Rush performing her smash hit single Angel Of The Morning. I remember having my eyes glued to the TV when she was on screen. There was something very magical about that raven haired cutie, even to a boy of my age. It thrilled me to no end that Merrilee would go on to become a semi regular on the show, performing and participating as a celebrity judge in the shows\' battle of the bands contest.
For my 8th birthday I requested and recieved the Merrilee Rush and the Turnabouts\' album and promptly drove my family crazy with endless listenings. I wore out needle after needle on my little GE portable record player. I still have my worn out vinyl album but am thrilled that the album is now available on CD completely remastered with bonus tracks. I ordered my copy from Amazon.com as soon as it was availble. What memories it brought back to me.
As for the Happening series, it was a GREAT show and really should be released on DVD. Note to Dick Clark: what are you wating for?moreless
