  • I thought it was good for one reason, bad for another.

    9.5
The thing about this show is that it was to gay I'm not saying that in a bad way, I mean everything out of their mouth was gay joke, he's gay he's gay so one. This show needs to be more like Will & Grace, where him being gay is a part of it, but it's not the whole show!

The part I thought was good was it was based on Fran's real life, and I like that it wasn't written as a Fran Pitty Party. It was funny, it was poor Fran it was good!

All it all i laughed hysetically. It wasn't the best show, but it was good, and it has alot of potential! :)moreless

I didn't plan on watching the show, but why not, I gave it a shot, and it was actually not that bad.

The pilot made every possible gay joke they could have, although it was done appropriately and I do not think GLAAD will get too upset over it. There were a few laughs, but this was more of an introduction to the characters and I think they did a sufficient job at that. Fran Drescher's voice is still annoying, but unlike The Nanny reruns, it is actually somewhat tolerable.

The stars of the show are comedy veterans Tichina Arnold and John Michael Higgins. Higgins provided most of the laughs tonight, but the show's best asset, Everybody Hates Chris and Martin star Tichina Arnold was not properly utilized. Frankly, her character was too "normal" and not the aggressive, demeaning persona we know her to be from those other shows.

I think TV Land has found a better complement for Hot in Cleveland with this show than Retired at 35 was, although I'm not sold on the series just yet.moreless
