Richie and Arlene (Laurette Spang) have only been going out together for two weeks and when they break up, poor Richie feels depressed and lost. One of the biggest problems is that the Junior Prom is just around the corner and they were intending to go together but that now looks as though it may be in jeopardy.

Richie and Arlene are both unsure what to do. The Prom is important and both of them want to be there. It would certainly never do to not be in attendance and so, being very sensible and mature about the whole thing, they decide that even though they are not a couple anymore, they are still definitely friends and can go together to the Prom in that capacity.moreless
