Season 1 Episode 10

Give the Band a Hand

Aired Tuesday 8:00 PM Mar 26, 1974 on ABC

Episode Recap

Ralph is working at Arnold's while Richie and Potsie think about how they can make some money. Richie, Potsie, Ralph, and Bag form a band in order to earn some extra money. They practice in the garage and play the song "All Shook Up" with Fonzie critiquing them. Potsie later comes over in a werewolf mask while the Cunninghams play Monopoly at the kitchen table. Richie and the gang are able to get a gig at a college frat party for $11.25 each. They play "All Shook Up" over and over because it's the only song they know. After Richie and Potsie clean up the house after the party (part of their deal), they lose $45 (the pay for the entire band) playing poker. They lose via the Hoboken Hustle with a marked deck of cards. Howard "Chips" Cunningham and Richie go back over to the Zena Phi house to win back the money. Howard lets them win every hand and then, at the end, uses his own deck of cards to play fair and square. They return home early the next morning after winning the money back, and Howard has to go to a father/daughter Junior Chipmunk outing with Joanie.
