  • Hard-nosed local cop, Officer Kirk, imposes a curfew on teenagers after the high school is vandalized.

Officer Kirk is the kind of cop who should be running a school for young offenders, or perhaps working as a prison guard in a maximum security facility because there is simply no bending of the rules where he is concerned.

When Jefferson High suffers some minor damage due to vandals, Officer Kirk decides to place all teenagers on a ten o' clock curfew to fix the problem. Needless to say, Richie and his pals are NOT pleased and plan to band together to demonstrate against the unfairness of the rule. This seems like a very good idea until they accidently get locked inside Arnold's diner on the night of their protest.

Pretty mediocre and very predictable episode. Not one of my favorites.
  • Officer Kirk introduces a 10 p.m. curfew after some kids broke a window at the school. Richie and his friends plan to demonstrate against the the strict curfew but things don't go according to plan...

This episode is a bit hard to review, because on Five US (United Kingdom) it was edited for time even more heavily that usual, so a lot of the pacing and jokes were gone! But out of what was left... this is a good episode, the first to feature Ed Peck as Officer Kirk. He would pop up in the series occasionally to try and lay down some draconian law, giving Richie and co. something to protest against.

Richie, Potsie and Ralph don't get locked in Arnold's until quite late in the episode, and even then not for that long - they could have probably made a bit more of it, but what there is is good. The Police cell scenes are the best of the episode, and as is often the case, Marion has some of the best lines.
