The band plays "Hello, Mary Lou (Goodbye Heart)" at an ATO/Delta Gamma party. Everyone applauds, and Richie, Ralph, and Potsie go for some punch. The D.G. sorority is choosing its king that night. Richie goes for some ginger ale, and Bullfrog, the bartender, puts a pill in Richie's drink. The 1961 Delta Gamma King is Richie Cunningham. Ralph asks for a recount. As he starts his speech, Richie's vision starts to become blurry, and he insults Ralph and Potsie. Richie kicks a hole in Chachi's bass drum. Bullfrog is shown laughing. Richie kisses Potsie's girlfriend and then kisses Lori Beth's navel. Richie is obviously not himself due to what was in his drink. He, then, spits punch out of his mouth like a fish. At the house at 3:00 in the morning, Howard, Marion, and Joanie see someone riding a motorcycle on their lawn. Howard thinks it is Fonzie. Fonzie walks in through the kitchen, and then Richie drives in on Fonzie's motorcycle wearing flippers, goggles, and a snorkel. Richie gives Fonzie a dented fender from the bike. Fonzie is furious but holds back his anger. Richie, then, passes out on the floor. Howard and Fonzie carry Richie upstairs. Richie talks to Howard and Marion the next morning but doesn't remember anything that happened after being named King of the Delta Gammas. Lori Beth blows off Richie at Arnold's, and Ralph and Potsie tell him to get lost. Chachi pours some of his malt in Richie's shirt pocket. Fonzie enters and asks Richie for an explanation and says there will be a fight. Richie asks why everyone is angry with him. Fonzie says that he can't hit Richie because something isn't right. He and Richie go into his office. Richie tells Fonzie about the ginger ale that he got from Bullfrog, a man with whom he doesn't get along. Fonzie and Richie go over to talk to Bullfrog at the ATO house. Fonzie asks him about the stunt that he pulled on Richie. He tricks Bullfrog into confessing. Richie confronts Bullfrog, and he puts a trophy over Richie's head. Fonzie steps in for Richie and jams Bullfrog's hands in the pool table pockets. Bullfrog's ATO brothers tell him that he is out of the fraternity and that they are calling the dean. Fonzie takes the trophy off of Richie's head. At Arnold's, Richie makes an announcement telling everyone that he acted terribly last night and asks for their forgiveness. Everyone tells Richie that they are sorry for the way they treated him, and they don't need an explanation. The band performs "Let's Twist Again."
