Richie is absolutely thrilled when he is named as leader of his R.O.T.C. squad at Jefferson High. He is convinced that it's going to be fun and quite easy, but, unfortunately, things don't QUITE turn out that way when, in the opinion of his squad members, he takes the role just a little too seriously and they refuse to obey his commands.

With his squad not responding in the way that he had hoped, often clowning around and generally refusing to take anything seriously, Richie feels that the only thing he can do is be even tougher on them to show them who's boss. When he puts them all on report, he just about has a riot on his hands!

Not the best episode in the series but it does showcase an important area of 1950s high school life.moreless
