The production codes indicate this episode was filmed after "Richie's New Car," but broadcast before it, which explains why Richie already has the "new" car and is dating Gloria.
The car that Richie has in this episode is the one he will get in the next episode.
Richie goes out with Gloria in this episode, but the next episode has him going out with her for the first time.
Richie: Now we're gonna do what we came up here to do: neck.
Gloria: Oh, anything you say, Richie.
(They begin to kiss when the alarm clock goes off, signaling that Gloria must go home.)
Gloria: Maybe we'll have time for a goodnight kiss at my door.
Richie: The story of my life is kissing at the door.
Potsie: This girl's got potential. I took her to the drive-in the other night, and she's still talking to me.
Chuck: If you're gonna have a girl up here, maybe we ought to rig up a signal or something to let me know.
Richie: Like a light in the window?
Chuck: Well, I usually put a sign on the door saying "Keep away, I got a girl here."
Marion: Now, dear, there's egg salad and tuna.
Richie: Oh, thanks, Mom.
Howard: Marion, when the prodigal son returns home you're supposed to feed him the fatted calf, not make him the fatted prodigal son.
Linda Purl makes her first appearance as Richie's girlfriend, Gloria. She will return in season 10 as Fonzie's girlfriend, Ashley Pfister.
