Nip It, the pinball machine at Arnold's, was released in 1973. The approximate date of this episode is 1956.
In the first scene, Howard complains about the noise he heard the previous night, blaming it on his neighbor, Mr. Maschiarelli, and his dog. Maschiarelli is actually the real last name of Happy Days creator Garry Marshall. He wanted to use it for a character in the series but later changed it to Fonzarelli.
Fonzie: I wasn't always the cool person you see standing before you here today. I see you're shocked. Yes, there was a very, very brief time during which I was a nerd. Yeah, I was a turkey. And I wanna tell you, I tried everything: ducktails, tight jeans, taps on my shoes. Nothing worked. Nothing, until... until it came along. Mr. C, it made me different. It made me special. My bike made me the Fonz!
Ralph: You can think of a way out of this? Richie: No, but maybe my father can. Ralph: Your father? What does he know about being threatened with revenge? Richie: He was a cook in the Army.
William Bickley is credited as "William S. Bickley."
The original "Nip It" pinball machine is back at Arnold's.
Oral Roberts Fonzie says, "I might be the best, but I'm not Oral Roberts," when thinking about fixing his totaled motorcycle. Oral Roberts was a faith healer who, seemingly, could perform miracles with the touch of his hand.
