This really is a fantastic, fun-filled, feel good episode where we see not only more of Joannie than usual but also more of Henry Winkler's talents as a comedian and a fine dancer too!

Joannie is thrilled when Fonzie agrees to be her partner for a dance marathon. She particularly wants to beat the snooty cheerleading captain, Jill Higgins (Charlene Tilton) who has recently dumped Joannie from the squad. Jill and her brother, Bubba, are equally convinced that they are going to win but Joannie is convinced that with Fonzie as her partner, she can't lose.

Unfortunately, on the night of the dance, Fonzie's motorcycle breaks down twelve miles from home and he has to push it the rest of the way, meaning that he is exhausted and is clearly not up to competing in the marathon but, not wishing to let Joannie down, he goes ahead with it, in spite of being barely able to stand up!

It looks like Fonz MIGHT get through the night until dance challenges are issued and he collapses. Judges Howard and Marion (acting as the nurse) are about to officially pull Fonzie out of the race but jeers from Jill Higgins make him get up and go and put on an hilarious routine. Needless to say, he and Joannie end up winning but Fonz is more interested in sleeping!

One of my very favourite episodes. A laugh all the way.moreless
