Henry Beckman had the perfect life, a great job, a perfect girlfriend and a sweet apartment - until Henry gets dumped by Heather, the girl he thought was "the one," and he is now thrown into an apartment with a man who has his own surreal opinions on life and women, his new roommate, Larry Cone. Henry begins to rebuild his life and now want to find himself a job and a new love. The show had an original production run of thirteen episodes, of which only four episodes aired before it was cancelled. There were three completed episodes that were ready to be aired that FOX never aired.moreless

    I must say that i missed the show a lot,and now one tv station in my country is airing it with it's full 13 episodes! I don't know why people say it was boring and horrible because i like it very much and it's very funny, good lines, good actors.Fox didn't give it a chance.i think they should reconsider and put i back on air, or at least get a DVD out.:)

    The show starred John Sloan as Henry Beckman, a young man rebuilding his life after losing his girlfriend, his job, and his apartment. The series was produced by husband/wife duo Jeff and Jackie Filgo of That '70s Show fame and has been stated to be "an edgier Friends."moreless

The show consisted of 6 actors (John, Lex, Nat, Jamie, Beth, and Brook) who are playing 'friends' knock off characters with attitude... and, as we all guessed, that they all go to happy hour at 4. The TV series bombed after 4 episodes of the first year were shown because advertisers were more interested in other better shows, low ratings, and terrible acting.moreless

    I liked Happy Hour. Of course, it wasn't as good as sitcoms like Seinfeld, Friends, Everybody Loves Raymond, Frasier, or Cheers, but I have a feeling that if they would have given this show a few more episodes it would have gotten better and better and it would have become very successful, and a few seasons would appear.
    But now, that's not going to happen.
    OK, I'll admit it, I only saw the pilot episode, but I really really liked it.
    Were the other episodes better? No clue. But pilot was good! It made me laugh! Why did they take it off?

    This show was funny! Plus, it prominently featured men\\\'s men drinking like men, a much needed feature in todays apple-tini, redbull, and smirnoff filled world. It\\\'s a veritible crime it was cancelled, more the fault of Major League Baseball and too early a timeslot. Too bad it\\\'s not animated, otherwise Cartoon Networks Adult Swim block could pick it up and revive it into a media phenomenon (remember, Family Guy was cancelled after only two (or was it three?) seasons before it came back).moreless

    I really wanted to like "Happy Hour", but didn't!

    I was hoping for some light entertainment - - to counter balance things like "Prison Break", "24", etc.! Something like what we lost when "Friends" and/or "Cheers" were done. But this show wasn't it.

    The premise had promise. It wasn't lined up against something else that I routinely watch. So, I tuned in for several shows. It was all I could do to last through them. Something just wasn't working!

    Maybe with more time and more episodes things would have improved. But I am not surprised to hear that it has (apparently) been scratched from the line-up.moreless
