        Quote 1
ORWELL [voiceover]: Now I hadn't been surprised when I got a call from Sara Webber, because Lt. Trench had called me first and asked me to do him a favor. He was worried about her. You know for Trench that was really quite sentimental: he said he didn't want any DOAs on his turf.

        Quote 2
KATE ROBERTI: Carl Dawes was a louse….And believe you me, I am an expert witness. In my time I have known—-both in and out of the Biblical sense-—some of the world's great crumbs.
        ORWELL: But Sara loved him.
KATE: She was 18 years old. At that age, a girl can fall in live with a crocodile….

        Quote 3
SUE [at door of Orwell's cottage]: Hi.
        ORWELL: Oh...hi.
SUE [sees Sara sitting at breakfast bar]: I saw your lights go on.
ORWELL: Oh, yeah…well, well…it was…it was dark in here so I thought I'd turn on the lights.
        SUE: Hmmmm…
ORWELL: What can I get you?
SUE: I blew a fuse….You have an extra fuse?
ORWELL: Fuse…must have a fuse…Hey, I think so….Fuse…fuse…Uh, Sara, this is, uh, Sue. Sue, this is, uh, Sara. Uh, Sara's gonna stay over for a couple of days.
        SUE [cattily]: How nice.
ORWELL [to Sara]: Uh…Sue's my next door neighbor.
        SARA: How convenient.
ORWELL: Uh…here they are: fuses. [to Sue] There you go.
SUE: Thank you. I'll just go home now and stumble around in the dark and try to find a place to put it in without electrocuting myself. Good-bye. [Sue leaves.]
        SARA: She's pretty.
ORWELL: Uh, yeah…well, she is uh…ya know, uh...sort of the kid next…door…type. She, uh…stops by for a cup of coffee every now and then.
SARA: Next time you have a cup, ya better check for arsenic.

        Quote 4
[Viewer sees that following phone call is overheard by Trench and Roberts, who are tapping Orwell's phone.]
        ORWELL [picks up phone]: Hello.
        SUE: Hi, Harry.
ORWELL: Oh, hey, uh…hey, Sue, I can't talk to you right now.
SUE: Uhm, I'm sorry about last night.
ORWELL: Yeah, well, there's nothing to be sorry about…nothing at all. Listen, I'll explain later….
SUE: Is that person still there?
        ORWELL: Uh, no….
SUE: Well, I certainly hope I didn't have anything to do with it…
ORWELL: No, no…nothing at all. Listen, I can't talk to you right now. I'm expecting a very important call….No, I'll…I'll talk to you later. [hangs up]
SUE [still talking into phone]: Harry…You're not very nice, Harry!!
TRENCH [bemused, to Roberts]: She's learning.
