Malcolm returns to help defend his friend, Lil D, who is now on death row having been convicted for murdering a police officer. Malcolm feels Harry abandoned his friend by passing him off to another attorney. Harry agrees to help Malcolm under the condition that he focus on his studies.
Adam and Phoebe help Tony Trafford, a kind man who is facing extradition to England for having unknowingly stolen a Rembrandt at age 17.
