Harry's Law

Harry's first husband dies and she is grudgingly left to make arrangements since the man has no other family. She and Tommy take on the case of man who has for months been labeled a 'Person of Interest' in his ex-wife's murder with dire consequences to himself and his family. Meanwhile, Adam and Phoebe help a man who was dismissed from his job for a very unusual reason and Ollie and Cassie come to heated words over an Affirmative Action case of his. Amidst all this the staff is planning the law firm/shoe store's anniversary party, which Harry wants no part of.

Malcolm returns to help defend his friend, Lil D, who is now on death row having been convicted for murdering a police officer. Malcolm feels Harry abandoned his friend by passing him off to another attorney. Harry agrees to help Malcolm under the condition that he focus on his studies.

Adam and Phoebe help Tony Trafford, a kind man who is facing extradition to England for having unknowingly stolen a Rembrandt at age 17.

Phoebe asks Adam to help him with a case in which her client, a reality TV star, is sued for damages by her in-laws after her husband commits suicide, which they blame on her behavior on the show.

Harry and Tommy defend a woman who ran away from jury duty during deliberations in a high profile murder case.

Attorney Sam Berman, with whom Harry negotiated a very favorable settlement in the aftermath of him suffering a brain injury, accuses Harry of taking advantage of him asks to have the judgment vitiated. Cassie and Oliver defend Chloe Higgins, who is accused of the murder of her husband James by rigging a shotgun to go off on the opening of her front door and Adam is once again drawn into an office dispute, this time between Lisa and Chunhua.

Harry shoots down a strange object from the sky after her next door neighbor, Margaret Albertson, alerts her to it. The object turns out to be a drone, which police are using to spy on Margaret, whom the police suspect to be a sex offender. Although cleared, she loses her third grade teaching job and seeks out Harry's help.
Meanwhile, Oliver comes up against Phoebe Blake, counsel for a 16-year old boy Oliver help forcibly return to his parents. The boy dropped out of high school and moved into his own apartment to take a well-paying, full-time job with a startup.
At the office, Adam is pulled into a dispute between the shoe store employees and Chunhua, who they accuse of being a tyrannical boss.

Harry represents a public school whose principal expels a student with a stress based condition called Conversion Disorder, which causes her to have uncontrollable facial contortions that frighten the other students and disrupt classes. She also reaches out to Roseanna Remmick for help with a case in which a former client is convinced that his sister, who was killed in a car accident that was barely investigated by police, was actually murdered by her husband and the accident staged to cover it up.
Adam takes on the case of a Maggie Buchanan, a high school friend of his who has a string of drug and prostitution charges and has taken a plea bargain for three years in prison. Lastly, Tommy and Roseanna are both up for the prestigious Trial Lawyer of the Year award.

Harry and Adam support a man suing a tobacco company after his wife died of lung cancer from a lifetime of smoking. Cassie represents a woman claiming to be the victim of escalating threats from her ex-husband, and Tommy hires Oliver to represent him is a suit being filed against him by a woman claiming that he led her to believe their relationship was exclusive.

Harry, Adam and Cassie represent Jimmy, a sharp-tongued 21-year-old Harry meets at a poker game. He is dying of kidney failure and has found someone who will sell him a kidney for $70,000.

Meanwhile, Tommy and Oliver defend identical twins who are both arrested when the man they are both married to is murdered. Roseanna Remmick is convinced that one of the twins acted alone in committing the murder, but Oliver refuses her plea offer, which begins to look like a bad decision as the trial unfolds.

Adam and Cassie defend a high school friend of Adam's who dressed up as Wonder Woman and carried out vigilante actions against husbands who abuse their wives. Meanwhile, Harry and Tommy take on the case of a woman who wants an escaped gorilla declared a person so she can adopt him.

Harry and Adam represent parents whose son died after being concussed in a high school football game. Harry presents expert evidence examining the dangers of football-related injuries, especially to children and teenagers.

Meanwhile, Tommy represents a single mother who, after being foreclosed on by her bank, stole $60,000 from a teller at gunpoint to support her three children and pay her bills. With Cassie's help, they used an obscure defense and put the government's actions in the economic meltdown on trial.

At the office, Adam is upset by Oliie's attentions to Chunhua and orders her to not spend time with him.
