    Trivia, Notes, Quotes and Allusions

    FILTER BY TYPE

    • TRIVIA (1)

      • Several times in court, either Harvey or Reducto address the judge. But, it is never shown who the judge is, and the judge has no spoken lines.

    • QUOTES (4)

    • NOTES (3)

      • Magilla Gorilla:
The Magilla Gorilla Show premiered in syndication on January 14, 1964. A Saturday morning version of the show premiered on ABC on January 1, 1966 and ran until September 2, 1967. The main part of the show was about Magilla, a loveable but clumsy gorilla, who lives in Mr. Peebles' Pet Shop. With Mr. Peebles always trying to sell or even give away Magilla with no success.

      • A running gag in this episode is that nobody notices that Peter Potamus is suffering from being unable to breathe because a six-pack ring used for holding soda cans is strangling his neck. Also, Magilla Gorilla appears naked in this episode.

      • Tribonin Disclaimer:
Erections lasting more than a week should be documented. Preferably by the world record people. Or your wife. Do not horse ride while on Tribonin. Do not Tribonin horses. Tribonin and reading very small type may cause blindness. You're very fast with the pause button. Congratulations. Now back to the show.

    • ALLUSIONS (7)

      • Melvin Van Peebles: Badasssss...

When they mention Melvin Peebles during the trial the camera goes to a caricature of film director Melvin Van Peebles sitting in the audience with beautiful women around him. Peebles is most known for the 1971 film Sweet Sweetback's Badasssss Song, which he wrote, directed and starred in.

      • Scrappy Doo:
One of the dogs in Avenger's nest is Scrappy Doo. For more information on Scrappy, see Shaggy Busted.

      • Johnny Quest:
The two boys at the campfire with dynamite are Hadji and Johnny, from the 1964 show, Johnny Quest. One of the two dead dogs in Avenger's nest is Johnny's dog, Bandit. For more information, see Bannon Custody Battle.

      • Men In Black:
In the background of Harvey's office, there is a b&w picture of Harvey shaking hands with an alien. This is similiar to a b&w photograph in Kay's office in Men In Black, where Kay is also shaking hands with an alien.

      • Office Space:
When Harvey takes the stapler from Avenger's nest he is almost reenacting Gary Cole's previous role as Bill Lumbergh in the cult movie Office Space.

      • Huey, Dewy and Louie: Potamus' nephews are a reference to Donald Duck's nephews.

      • Magilla Gorilla: See Deadomutt (2). Also featuring from the show is Mr. Peebles.
